There must be missing parts to that, otherwise Smitty sent two sperarate PMs (with a 30 minute time delay), the first asking him to calm down and the second stating that calm people don't send abusive PMs. I'm not sure why you'd raise the issue again 30 minutes later unless you wanted the argument to continue? Perhaps to bait him out further so you could post about it in the thread. Hmm.

Also, age doesn't mean anything - Boozy is in his 30s as well and acts like a teenager.

For some reason he deleted another PM that was in between those two saying he was 'as calm as a calm person in calm town' or something to that effect. You keep plugging though, Columbo. Also well done for blaming me when he's the one who decided to send a PM telling me to fuck off out of a thread.

Least he kept it private.

Oh yes, private abuse is the best kind of abuse, isn't it? Making comments you wouldn't make in public is so very honourable, isn't it? It really is hilarious watching those who hate me tie themselves into knots because they cannot allow themselves to not take an opportunity to attack me, however nonsensical that attack is.

You are totally transparent. It's pathetic.

As I said in my PM lets not turn this into the Smitty show. Which is exactly what I didn't want to happen hence the PM (yes be careful what you wish for). I'm just sick of Smitty ruining threads tis all. I don't enjoy his postings and think he's a dick. End of story. Nothing to see here.

How am I tying myself into a knot? If you dislike it, report it to a mod. I've seen you use equally bad language and personal attacks in threads before though, so I don't really empathise with you. Your default response to something you disagree with seems to be "fuck off".

Haha they're ace! Did they take long to do? I've never really tried to draw on the wii u but some of the fan art you see in the miiverse is incredible!

Not really related but I did this on draw something once and it was tricky as fuck on an iphone screen. Must feel ace on the gamepad.

Thanks everyone. This is the opposite from the awkward silence I got from my family when I showed them my MiiVerse pictures.

They only take about 40 mins. The Gamepad is beautiful for drawing. Pencils feel like pencils. It's hard to explain but it's awesome.

Great Asterix, get redrawing him on the Gamepad!

Of course the best solution to someone posting stuff you don't like is definitely telling them to fuck off in a PM.

I killed some monsters online with my brother today. It was fun. Now I'm watching Netflix with my wife. I have Mario World, Kart and Smash Bros to look forward to, Arkham City and Zombi U to start, not forgetting Super Luigi and Wind Waker to buy.

Doomed!

Edit: However long this console lasts, I'm having fun.

Sales leap 1000% on back of the news that a WiiU owner likes his WiiU.

My opinion as Mr Nintendo.

The games for the WiiU have so far been pretty rubbish. The console's great but a bit ropey. My Netflix was hit and miss. The games I think would put people off buying it. I think Pikmin 3 is a disaster. It's not fun at all. Wonderful 101, bought the game but I haven't even got further than the end of the demo. NSMB. I think it's not much fun. In multiplayer it's horrible. Bouncing off other players is shit. Rayman does the multiplayer so much better. Fucking RAYMAN.

I think Runner 2, Mighty Switch Force and Trine are more fun than any of the big Nintendo games.

But then playing WindWaker while watching Motorway Cops makes everything okay. So, yeah. Not great so far.

I have to agree with others, this seems to be a private argument that have nothing to do with the wii u.

Anecdotal evidence I know, but I have to say the wii u is one of the best systems I have owned in years. Zombi U is a work of genius. Genuine tension and great atmosphere.

Some of the multiplats are great too, arkham city was excellent and Mass effect 3 (shame we probably wont get anymore) which really show the system is very capable.

I bought the system for two reasons. Firstly I grew up with Nintendo and am a bit of a fan, secondly it was going to be the cheapest "next gen" system and I have a family and two small children so a £400 xbone or ps4 aren't really an option anymore.

I am recommending the Wii U left and right to friends and family and am even considering buying a second one for upstairs. There are some excellent titles on the way like super mario 3d and mario kart, the new zelda, batman arkham origins to name a few.

Netflix is excellent (if a bit buggy) and some of the other options are fun. The google maps thing is great fun for the kids walking about on the balance board.

I don't think it is a "doomed" system. There is certainly room for it and the other systems, but for some reason I don't see any of the systems selling such huge numbers due to the worlds economy, but I forsee ps4 and wii u doing decent numbers after xmas.

I agree about the PS4 and I can't believe how stupid people are. The only reason the PS3 is doing so well is it's the price of a Wii. Not a WiiU.

It's only the last couple of years the PS3 has been selling, those people aren't ready for a PS4. They haven't had a PS3 for 6 years. The whole industry is fucked next year. Apart from Nintendo because MarioKart and WiiFit.

Absolutely. I have a ps3 and have to say it is little more than a blu-ray player. They sold very poorly at the time and have only picked up now, at the very end of its lifespan.

The proposed releases for both ps4 and xbox one really did nothing to pique my interest and so I can't justify the expense of those systems. I am sure there will be some nice games for it, but I won't be sorry not to get another GTA or Halo to be honest. Wii U seems powerful enough to do what it needs to keep up and of course there are the family friendly games. I am also loving the virtual console games and the fact that the homebrew channel is so easily installed on the wii menu.

I want to specifically counter the "ah, look, one person likes the Wii-U, it's saved!" comment.

I posted a photo a while back where there were 11 kids playing on our Wii-U. All 11 having a great time. I half joked that Nintendo could pay me to market the system, but that's essentially what I'm doing. Does 11 kids having an evening on a Wii-U make a difference? Well, not immediately. But it's a ripple effect. It just needs those 11 kids to tell their friends....those friends to tell their friends and so on. The Wii was a commercial juggernaut not just because it was such a brilliant proposition and easy to explain, but through the free marketing Nintendo got by people doing the groundwork for them. Wii-Us problem is that its benefits and strong points are difficult to explain. It needs a skilled evangelist to help create a situation where someone might see the benefit of having one. As the user numbers are so low, these people are few and far between.

I find the Wii-U and Vita threads here to be brimming with positivity about the systems (generally). I've gradually watched my friends list on the PS3 fill up with people playing Vitas and subscribing to PSPlus. The latter, in particular, is a service that Sony have utterly failed to explain to the layman. It's so strong a proposition you'd have to be a muppet not to subscribe - but its relied on word of mouth. How many subscribers in total there are now, who knows, but in terms of mindshare and recognition it's gone from a weird little service nobody knew about to the "muppet-not-to" situation it now finds itself in. Neither the Vita and PSPlus are setting the world alight in terms of sales numbers (I'd imagine) but having positive, engaged communities, evangelising about them probably hasn't done them any harm - probably quite the opposite. Its the same with Wii-U. What drew me in was positive buzz from owners of the system and enough games to make it worth my while (for me LEGO City Undercover, Zombie U, ME3 (playable OffTV), Pokemon Rumble U and an HD Mario) - so, even if the influence is minor, positive posts in this thread do make a difference.

I think next year will be very interesting. Sony and Microsoft probably have the Wii-U marked down as an irrelevance. Its sales figures as an anomaly. Its part to play in the upcoming retail war a minor one. I have a suspicion it won't be quite that simple. A strategic price cut, a couple more decent titles, even the faint perception that either the One or PS4 are having trouble at retail and I can see Nintendo coming back into things pretty quickly.

Anecdotal evidence again, but in terms of sales I was told by a Game store employee that the wii oustripped pretty much everything home console wise, including 360 and that the ds and even the 3ds were massive sellers.

He said that he was surprised wii u had such a slow start but felt it was a "soft launch" to get it out the door before the competition then build on it later on.

He also said the return rate for faulty Wii systems was 2%.

Amazing.
