Nintendo Wii U

There's something unimpressive about that DKC game. I mean, it looks fine and all but it doesn't have that glossy sheen we're seeing with Mario 3D World or Mario Kart. It doesn't look next.5 gen. It just looks like a decent sequel to the Wii game.

Hopefully they've held it back for that reason and it'll look amazing next year.

It just looks like a decent sequel to the Wii game.

The wii mote on screen at the end doesn't help either :)

I really enjoyed the first one, hopefully they will have tightened up the slightly looser bits (collision detection on bosses always seemed off to me).

16) Does wading into the Wii-U thread, determined to wreak havok and spread your usual brand of passive-aggressive bullshit make rllmuk a better place? No.

17) Should you go out for a walk and turn off the Internet for a bit and try to think about what you're trying to achieve on rllmuk by doing this? Yes

Oh my lord stop being so silly. I didn't come into this thread 'determined to wreak havok'. I literally came in here too see what was cracking, I read something interesting and I commented on it.

Why would I think about what i was trying to achieve with a comment? Why does a comment even have to achieve anything? Achieve what and by whose standards? I saw something, I had a thought and I made a comment. If I go and say 'this trailer looks rubs' or 'this trailer looks great' what on earth am I trying to achieve except communicating my opinion?

Why would I need to 'go out for a walk and get off the internet for a bit and try to think about what i'm achieving on Rllmuk by doing this' when the 'this' in the question is making a post?

I started back up with Art Academy on my 3DS today. I do like how it can make an idiot like me feel that they can draw and paint. I didn't realise that there was a demo for this on the WiiU, I thought it was just the cheap Sketchpad thing which would be great if I could actually draw but I need the lessons to follow along with.

I just bought that Art Academy game. My daughter is making weird modern art and posting them to Miiverse, getting quite a few Yeahs.

I fucking love Miiverse. It's the best Social Network in the world.

Yeah!

If you've got Pikmin 3 and not really looked at the multiplayer then I recommend doing so - we've barely touched the single player in weeks. I thought it would be a bit crap but the incremental improvements you can make on the coop modes followed by some bingo battle is swallowing hours. With more DLC on the way the game is just amazing. It's easy to forget how utterly unique and charming it is as well.

I only played a couple of hours of ZombiU as I didn't want to get too far in before sending my Wii U out for replacement (dead pixel in the gamepad). What little I played was excellent though - so far it's exactly what I was hoping for. I wish you could tweak the controls a little bit more though, e.g. when using the gamepad to scan for usable things in the game world I wish you could just press a button to scan something rather than having to touch and hold the screen prompt. I'm also not keen on whatever it is your looting having an inventory screen even when it's empty - I just wish it said "empty" on the TV and didn't make you have to drag the screen to close it, or walk away (with a slight delay).

Does it introduce reasons to revisit old areas? I'm just wondering how repayable it is once you've completed the main campaign.

Is Art Academy proper out??? Or just the sketch pad? The sketch pad is great - but I'm rubbish at drawing so I need the wee helper man and the lessons.

Scott is suddenly excited by the prospect of handing Nintendo even more money!

Haha they're ace! Did they take long to do? I've never really tried to draw on the wii u but some of the fan art you see in the miiverse is incredible!

Not really related but I did this on draw something once and it was tricky as fuck on an iphone screen. Must feel ace on the gamepad.

I'm definitely getting one for my daughter for Christmas now.

I was going to go for a joint Xbox One present, but after the EG Expo stuff all I wanted to play was Mario, the Xbox/PS4 stuff just seemed a mite stale.

Now after properly looking into the Wii U properly, there's loads of stuff to appeal to the girls (and me) :D

Can't wait now. The 'I need to check for dead pixels' thing will get me an early play with the missus, yeah?
