Just realised this means vWii homebrew will now run on the GamePad. Gonna play me some Ridge Racer Type 4 tonight when the Mrs. is watching telly :wub:

Gah, I still can't find a decent guide to Wii mode homebrew. The only one I found scared me off despite modding my Wii.

Also did anyone think Mario + Sonic Winter Olympics looked pretty good?

Love the world competition aspect too

I thought it looked great. Surprised myself!

Anyone having issues with online, the update failed a couple of times with the generic no connection message - resumed fine and has installed but going into eshop, miiverse etc and getting errors all over the shop??

I guess the servers may be getting hammered?

No problems here!

Right. Just got Lego City and am shocked at how bad the loading times are.

I'm trying so hard to like the wii u, but for fuck sake Nintendo!

it's bad at the start because there's a lot of going in and out of the cop shop - but once the game starts, it's not as bad... honest.

My word...

I already was looking forward to Mario 3D World, mainly because I'm not a joyless cock, but after seeing the new trailer my excitement levels have tripled. More invention, more new ideas, more variety shown in those 2 minutes than in the career output of some of gaming's biggest publishers. Can't wait for the inevitable slew of REHASH LAZY CASH-IN SAME-OLD STALE NINTENDO hatred following its release, while those of us who aren't scared to embrace unbridled fun splash COLOURFUL AWESOME all over Twitter and Facebook, direct from our console!

Everybody keeps on saying Nintendo needs to do new stuff. Well, until ANYBODY ELSE starts doing stuff like this, I'd rather they kept on this path, thanks all the same.

The loading in general is pretty bad on the WiiU though - Wonderful 101 has quite a bit of loading too.

Not sure if there is a technical reason unique to the WiiU for this or whether its inevitable due to the speed of disc drives, but coming from mostly PC and Nintendo gaming over the past 5 years it is annoying.

Is it? It's pretty much non-existent in any other game. Even games like Batman and Assassin's Creed, the loading is faster than on the 360.

I think the dull loading screen on Lego doesn't help and just emphasises the time. It's fine once you're messing about in the city though. I played Far Cry 3 on the PS3 from HDD the other day and that takes a while to get going, it's just presented better. Even stuff like the little tips games show help take your mind off the loading. Perhaps a bit of mix-e-load is in order.

My little boy made me play the Mario 3D trailer three times in a row last night. When cat Mario was chasing the birds away he looked at me and said 'daddy this is the best game I've ever seen'. I have to agree with him, it looks wonderful.

Next gen pre orders cancelled. I'll buy a Bone or PS4 when there’s some games worth getting. Father Christmas will be delivering a Wii U shaped package to our house this year.
