The wii u colours are muted, its just a thing and well known i thought.

The GC one defi has more colour pop but hard to say what one is better, everyones screen will be calibrated differently so will wait to see it on my telly - it does look incredible in HD.

I was bored of zelda when this came out so put about 2 hours into it and havent played a zelda since :o will be giving it a proper play this time so pretty excited about it really!

Now my Xbox Live sub has expired, I doubt I'll be using anything but the Wii U. I don't understand why the fuck I have to have a Gold membership to watch Netflix. That's just stupid. I'm using the internet, not an MS service. The problem is that now I can't play games on the gamepad while the wife watches 'Flix on the 360.

Tank! Tank! Tank! is brilliant. Kong mode is hilarious. OK, I'm not sure I'd pay more than the 10 euros I found it for today second-hand, but it's very amusing and a weird cross between EDF and a party game.

I am having a problem though (on another game) - I have a cheap third party Wiimote which has Motion Plus (fucking dumbest technology upgrade ever) but Nintendoland seems to keep disconnecting it. It worked fine for ages yesterday, but today it kept spazzing out after about 5 minutes on the Metroid game and turning the remote off. I've also had problems syncing the other normal official Wiimotes (Disney's Planes took ages to get started in a co-op game). Potential Wii-U problem here? Anyone else had anything like this?

So I finally caved and bought a Pikmin 3 download code from Game, but found a 10% off any orders over £50 and slung a £25 eShop card in the mix.

Now, my messed up logic is telling me this is good as I'll get Wonderful 101 for £28 - the £5 credit I have on the eShop - £6 saving (effectively free credit in my eyes) - the £15 eShop card I have from returning a 3DS that was given to me from work, making my total expenditure on BOTH games a measly £39.50.

(£35 + £28) - £3.5 - £5 - £15 = £39.50

PLUS, I'll still have £25* of credit AND whatever I get from the Wii U cash back promotion. Quids in.

MAN LOGIC WINS, PILE OF SHAME GROWS.

* for which I paid £22.50

Zelda does like very nice however two things - the lighting is ruined is some places (ie the first boss fight IMO just doesn't look as good as the GC original) and secondly they look more like 3d models than flat cartoon style. Not a big deal but it does change it somewhat.

MAN LOGIC WINS, PILE OF SHAME GROWS.

I've got a reverse pile of shame for my Wii U, as TBH if I was sent out to buy a new Wii U game tomorrow, I'd have no motivation or desire to buy anything currently available. Really, I wouldn't. I've never enjoyed the Pikmin games, for example, and can't see a nicer-looking sequel doing anything for me, Wonderful 101's demo put me off immediately, Wind Waker felt like an ordeal a decade ago so I wouldn't entertain the thought of going through it again, and anything else (to my knowledge) is just ports of 360 and PS3 games that I wouldn't be interested in on those formats. While the 3DS seems like a banquet table piled with delectable dishes, too many to consume at once, the Wii U feels like a sparse canteen serving food I'd only eat to avoid literal starvation. If that analogy isn't complete shit.

tl;dr, I honestly can't think of any games I'd like to play on the Wii U.

Well, maybe, but at my age if a demo doesn't grab me immediately, and/or the controls are crap, I drop any thought of buying the full game permanently and immediately. Wasted too much time and money over the years on games that I didn't really enjoy. Gaming's about having fun, entertainment, not endurance.

Probably would be easier for me if things were like the olden days when I knew gamers and we'd all visit each other's houses. Had a couple of friends who'd buy ever big release, so I could gauge if certain games were my cup of metaphorical. I mean, there's that Lego GTA-like out for the Wii U, that's been lauded, but without a means to try before I buy, I'll be staying away. Videos make it look like a collect 'em up with a bit of clumsy driving. The sole Lego game I've tried in the past didn't entertain me much, to be honest, so I'm weary of anything with that branding.

What about Rayman Legends, Red? I've not really been that much of a fan of the past titles, but Legends is an utterly charming, engaging, lovingly crafted piece of entertainment.

If nothing from Pikmin 3, W101, Rayman Legends, Disney Infinity, Splinter Cell, or even Spin the Bottle (lol) grabs you then you really are a bit of a discerning gamer!

Wouldn't say discerning, just so worn out with games it takes something particular to entertain me for more than half an hour. Which I haven't found on the Wii U yet. Nintendo Land was loaded twice and thankfully forgotten about, New Super Mario Bros U I only played to the end because my girlfriend wanted to play multiplayer and found the later stages too difficult.

Got my GameCube stuff from the storage centre earlier and had more fun in one evening playing random games than I've ever had with the Wii U.

Petrichor, sounds like Lego City Undercover isn't for me then.

I'm probably more likely to get Wind Waker HD now that I've read about the changes to the game, although I'm not going to get in on Day One or anything.

In case anyone missed it; Wii Party U is out at the end of October and it's only £35 with a free wii remote plus. Bloody loved the first, some quality mini games. Just hoping for a few choices of board this time.

This is great new. And more than one board for the board game mode would be much better. Wii Party was superb. I feel it was overlooked, even though it sold 8million copies.
