Netflix app is still a load of balls. A lot of the time it just hangs on a black screen when loading. Last night's new bug: no video on TV, but worked when switched to game pad.

I had that, I had to unplug the hdmi cable and plus it back in then it started working. Although it was going through an hdmi switch which might have confused it.

I fired up Pikmin 2 NPC today, as it felt like a nice summer game, getting myself nicely hyped for Pikmin 3.

Sonic Racing always freezes for me on the After Burner stage, so I think I'll just stick to the 360 version. A shame really, as I 2 player co-op was excellent on the TV/Gamepad combo.

Sounds more like its just asking to check for updates when the machine is off. Not like it requires a net connection to play? Unless I'm wrong this is nothing like why people were worried about the XBone right (the worry was that the Xbone required a constant net connection to play games?).

That, and sending personal info to super secret special governments. The Xbone always being on also means it can HEAR and SEE you (through the kinect). Of which for the Wii U, there really isn't much it could send, and it certainly can't hear/see you. But you could say it's not a very Nintendo thing to have a 'always on' system nonetheless, even if the Wii kind of tried it.
