Can someone explain exactly what the new Luigi game is - is it a new game or just Mario U levels but with Luigi?

It's somewhere in the middle, closer to a new game...

Basically its a set of levels DLC but with Luigi as the character who handles differently for want of a better word - they are all new levels but within the NSMBU world/engine/assets

A full game load of Mario levels designed around Luigi. The greatest piece of DLC invented? I think Luigi's superior acrobatic ability mean he's more enjoyable to control and I enjoyed his adventure even more than Mario's. Although it features faster paced shorter levels that aren't as suited to multiplayer.

NSMBU was the best of the 2D Mario platformers. Now it's the two best 2D Mario platformers.

Checked the Cambridge ASDA this lunch - not a single Wii U title (or any hardware for that matter). If anyone does happen to see NSMBU for £18, I'd be well happy if they grabbed it for me.

I'll be going today if you still want it?

Got to admit I'm slightly underwhelmed by the system so far.

Sonic Transformed is excellent, and I do like having one player on the TV and the other on the gamepad, but it has frozen a few times now. Mario U seems solid enough, though it hasn't wowed me yet, probably as I'm not really in the mood for it after having recently completed 3D Land and NSMB2, and Nintendo Land seems a little short on content (though some of the games are great fun). Really looking forward to Pikmin 3, and there are a good few titles I still need to pick up as well as those which haven't been released yet.

The games aren't really the problem though, and I've got a large Wii backlog to help, it's more that the system feels slow and updates take ages, similar to the PS3. Have there been any announcements about the second summer patch yet?

Nintendo Land really isn't short on content. A lot of the solo games open up more content as you play (for instance, Donkey Kong Crash Course has four boards) and the co-operative games (Metroid, Zelda, Pikmin) have loads of levels, plus additional levels when you finish them, plus some really tricky Master challenges. Getting a star on ("completing") each game in Nintendo Land is tricky enough but completing everything, getting Platinum trophies, getting all the stamps etc is really tough. It's a great game, and hugely under-rated.

It's not a solution but have you been downloading stuff when the freezes happened? That was my experience and I then decided to just let it download games overnight when I wasn't playing :P

Both rgraves and I were after NSMBU

Yep - it's apparently only £18 in ASDA right now.

Keep it on the down-low though. If some people on here found out that I didn't own the latest Mario game they'd revoke my fanboy license.
