Nintendo Wii U

Eurogamer on the whole though is still a great site, it's one of the very few that allows its writers to express personality in their reviews without feeling the need to try and make them into tedious internet "personalities".

Didn't you read about the whole biglime and Lauren wainwright scandal on Eurogamer? Obviously personal opinions aren't tolerated on the site.

There was a 30 page topic of it on here

That was the final straw for me....

I do think that they just don't have enough content to fill out the website. Honestly, the amount of utter shite that's covered on it... Who cares about some crappy iOS game?

The Sainsbury's we shop at never actually setup a Wii U section or a sign or anything. They just tucked a couple of the console boxes in at the bottom of the Wii section. I can't imagine this sort of thing helps with the general confusion over what the Wii U is.

I really hate spreading doom. I love the Wii u and really want it to be relaunched and do well.

However I visited game for the first time in 6 months during a boring lunch hour the other day and they had NO Wii U section at all. They had a poster advertising a console deal and a few Wii U boxes on the corner of the 3DS section but that was it. I was quite shocked.

I liked the look of the E3 lineup but have they announced new packages or anything resembling a relaunch yet? I've never seen anything quite like it. There was more Ouya shelf space. :(

Nintendo really only have themselves to blame. A poor launch with a game drought, and little to no marketing. They seemed to think it would ride on the success of the Wii, but how many families who bought a wii to "get fit" or game socially, now find it gathering dust along with it's pile of shovelware. While the Wii might have sold in buckets, it hardly became the social gaming console that Nintendo had hoped for. I imagine there's many wii balance boards leaning against a wall behind a sofa.

Unless they start getting games onto shelves and advertising them well, the console is well and truly fucked. Which is a shame, as it's a great piece of kit, with no games :(

Has anyone done the Wii > Wii U transfer? Seems like a right faff.

Easier than it'll be on the PS3 - PS4 though.

Actually, since getting a 3DS XL and Animal Crossing I sort of reckon a lot of the WiiU's troubles are down to the 3DS XL and Animal Crossing.

Don't know if this explains anything

I have. It's easy, but takes a while.

If you've softmodded your Wii, NAND backup it first, then restore the NAND after transferring. It'll remain softmodded and all you games and saves will then be on both devices.

I do, and hadn't thought to backup my Wii... I was just going to transfer everything tonight like a crazy person.

I'll look up a tutorial on the old webternet.

What is a NAND backup?

Do you need a new SD card for the Wii U? Do you need to clone the one in your Wii with all the games and software on it?
