Ive watched every single one mate, and all the ninty directs but im still unaware it didnt have party chat system till someone on a internet forum did lots of translating and then speculated it wasnt going to be in there.

Not having party chat wasn't mentioned in the videos, you're right. Not having it is stupid, but announcing that they don't have it would be even more stupid.

I don't go to London that often, but the 3DS is the only one I've seen anyone play on the tube, in Liverpool Street, and on the train there and back. And they're not kids playing them either. Quite a few more playing DSes too.

Sure, I've not seen many 3DSes (maybe 4-5 each day trip - Eurogamer Expo excepted!), but I always get a load of streetpass hits and haven't once seen anyone play a Vita or PSP.

It's probably not hipster enough for Crispin's gym and coffee shop.

In one respect your right but i think its to the detriment of the consumer that ninty is so guarded with everything. It comes across that the press arnt even allowed to ask the question about no party chat etc same goes for the system level achievements.

What is party chat?

You create a party then invite people into that to chat. On the 360, you can all be playing different games or doing other stuff, but you can still chat away. It also helps to keep communications together if you're all going to play something like Halo, as you won't get in game chat from whoever you're playing against. Plus, it's a cheap multi way phone call as well.

This will be the first major console release that I've not rushed out to pre-order for release date but there's just not enough excitement in the hardware or the software for me just yet.

ZombiiU looks pretty great but nowhere near £330 great. Nothing else holds any interest whatsoever which makes this as weak a launch line-up as I can recall. That I've not turned on the Wii for years doesn't help either..

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is 17GB. If that's the kind of file sizes we are looking at then SD cards are not going to be a cost effective way to expand the storage.

Its been confimed that the SD card cannot be used to save download games too - just internal memory and 1 other USB device.

Just nab a external HDD for £30 - £40 - 500 GB £60 1TB £70 -> £120 = 1.5 -> 2TB* and off you go. Im going to use a old 500 GB one i have lying about.

*totally rough prices from the top o my head, check hot uk deals for some good prices

I keep going back and forth on the Wii U. I reckon ZombiU might be decent but I suspect it'll have some flaws due to being a rushed launch title.

Nintendo Land looks a bit like them trying to catch lightning in a bottle again like they did with Wii Sports. The botched way of accessing your old purchased VC games doesn't appeal either.

Hopefully the US impressions this week will clear things up a bit.

UPDATE: Nintendo has confirmed Nintendo Network ID replaces Friend Codes for the Wii U.

A statement provided to Eurogamer reads: "Friend Codes will indeed not be used on Wii U. Players can use alphanumeric characters to create their Nintendo Network ID, this is not an automatically generated number."

I'm excited about the WiiU. I would buy it if it was simply a HD Wii. If it was simply a HD Wii with the prospect of Nintendo's output appearing exclusively on it for the next five years then for me that would be enough incentive to purchase it. That fact it's more than a HD Wii can only be a good thing, even if a lot of the features aren't explained or expanded upon.

As long as it's a bit like the 3DS where I can have a display name which isn't necessarily the same as my NNID, I'm okay with it.

That fact that, at the moment, it it looking just like a HD Wii is probably the reason that I'm not excited about the console. Nintendo's sporadic output alone is no longer incentive for me to invest a decent sum of money in their hardware.

It will indeed be interesting to see how the reviews pan out especially, of course, the use of the controller but I can see myself sitting this one out until the price cut in six months, or even a year, should t exceeds Nintendo's sales projections.

One must ask if it was possible for Nintendo to make a console that would get you excited? If Nintendo's games and most big multi platform releases doesn't do it then what would? I've a feeling the only thing that would have created excitement among gamers who aren't keen on Nintendo's own output would have been a consoles with 1000 times the power of an Xbox 360 for £250.
