Monster Hunter is an amazing time sink... it's the reason I don't own Luigis Mansion, Need for Speed or Fire Emblem... and the reason I haven't started Darksiders 2, only a quarter way through Batman and Lego City.

It's pretty much the only game I play right now and it's MASSIVE.

Oh, I know. I plowed so many hours into the Wii version but got pissed off because progress is impossible unless you played online - something I couldn't do.

Well i managed to transfer pandoras tower ack to y old wii, but most of the other saves are locked. Pain in the bum.

Were they on your SD card or in the memory of the Wii? If the latter, then restoring your NAND will restore them.

What you backed up before you transferred to the Wii U.

You... did back it up, right? I mean, I did say to...

(it's basically the flash memory that stores everything onboard, like games, saves, OS, IOSes, etc)

I had a backup, but bootmii disappeared after I did the transfer. But fuck it, I'll never use my Wii for anything meaningful again. Might just hack it again and bung a few emulators on there.

I honestly think Panorama view is the key to getting people to understand what the gamepad can bring to the party. Have that on the demo pods instead of Mario and FIFA.

Playing SMW on the gamepad while the kids watch TV is what Sunday morning was invented for. Well worth the 1.49 to upgrade. Can see me upgrading all of my VC games at this rate. The speed difference in F Zero is ridiculous. I knew 50Hz was slower, but I didn't realise how much difference it made. Even the menus are zippier

Okay, how you do mulitplayer on SMW? Both controllers seems to be set to player one (gamepad and classic) and I'll be fucked if I can change it. What's supposed to happen? A take it in turns type affair?

IIRC (I've not used 2 player mode in about 15 years) SMW doesn't care if you have two pads or one. If there is only one pad it's a pass the pad affair.

This. Mario World feels very much like a new game to me due to the sheer brightness/boldness of the colours and speed. (how did they manage that in this release, retro stuff is supposed to look worse on LCDs) It's all a lot more smoother then I remember from my snes pal original. Edit: Or indeed, the Wii VC release.

Hmm, well multiplayer isn't working on mine. When you die and it's Luigi's turn the controller doesn't do anything but allow you to swap lives and in the controller settings they're both set to player 1. And you can't do anything but the life thing.

Speaking of trigger controls, I found the ZL/ZR options in MH3U. They were on the - button menu ingame.
