The Rayman Legends challenges are excellent, I've no idea at the moment how to improve the 250metre race under 24sec, and it says I've yet to get bronze!

Balls to the wall hard! Yes!

Yeah have to admit its pretty damn good.. however it just makes me yearn even more for the full Legends release.

Fucking Ubisoft! :(

You have to spin then press jump to go faster in the running one. I'm down to 21 something.

Touch the lums purple and poke the baddies for extra lums on the touchscreen challenges.

It's better than I thought it would be to be honest. Lacking a bit of the tightness and finesse of Runner 2 or Mario U challenges, but fun to have a bash at.

The leader board seeing where you are thing is really well done.

Am I the only person who doesn't breath properly when playing Runner 2. I'm determined to beat Joffocakes

Mwahaha. I've only played the first world and a bit of the second. I went through to deliberately beat my cousin's scores. It's a good game. 7/10.

There are plenty of SNES games I'd say are well worth a fiver or more in terms of gaming value, but £1.49 to upgrade feels like a bit of a pisstake given that you likely paid more than the current asking price if you bought them on the Wii.

C'mon homebrew hackers...

I'm not even sure I understand what TVii is.

It's a daringly non-interactive Computer Says No game that sits front-and-centre on main screens like the home menu.

Pff, beat mine! I did beat most of his so far, you know! Just been lazy since it's the third time I'm replaying the thing.

Hmm, if Super Mario World really is the 60Hz version on the VC I might be up for buying it, because £5.49 is still cheaper than I've ever seen the Super Famicom cart on the secondary market recently. <_<

(FWIW, I also have F-Zero and Super Picross as Super Famicom carts, and I rate them as dated tech-demo and underrated puzzle gem respectively.)

Some people who are able to count to 50 and 60 in under a second were ranting that their 30p game was, frankly, fucked beyond playable.

Really, you don't need magic eyes to note that it's not right. It's playable, yet clearly not as smooth. Furthermore, the aspect ratio may have been "corrected" but it's still not right. I wouldn't expect to pick up, say, an art book and find that my version is a bit squashed because I purchased it in Europe.

It's not Sonic the Hedgehog bad (even as a kid I always wondered why that game was supposed to be fast when it was slow as molasses!) but I don't think it's too much to expect the game as it was meant to be; I believe the 3DS receives 60hz versions of its VC titles across the board.

The game will cost £3.49 soon, and we should be getting it as intended. I actually bought Kirby on hearing of the VC getting the definitive versions of its games (so far...), because it gave me hope for an update down the line. I think it's telling that Balloon Fight & Kirby aren't launching in PAL territories immediately.

It'll be great if this is the new default for Nintendo. Only Sony will be left stubbornly doing the wrong thing, and hopefully they'll see fit to adapt.

Nostalgia-wise I purposely play the VC version of Sonic 1 since that's the one I grew up with. Star Light, the way the music sounds in general, I dislike the sped up supposed 'as intended' version.* As I often repeat though, options are always nice. Rather then none.

*You can argue this point by listening to the Sonic 1 demo music released a year back, which is just as slow as the original PAL version was for the most part for all tracks. Lovely.

As smooth as what? I had no idea it was 50 or 60Hz until I was told (and even then I was told both options), and unless I ran both versions next to each other I'm not sure how to tell. Aside from being more flickery, and in 2D, it plays the same as the (presumably 60Hz) 3DS version.

As in, it's perfectly playable and I don't have a problem with it.

I don't understand this line of argument.

Surely they're already out? They haven't been disappearing from the eShop, have they? (I haven't checked.)

50 or 60hz isn't a problem if you don't have any previous experience to compare it to. The issue is for people who do have strong experiences of the games they owned before. Of course, this applies to Euro people returning to the 50hz experiences they grew up with. The only true solution would be to include 50 and 60hz versions in each case and let the player decide on loading.

It's got nothing to do with phoney elitism. When I play Super Mario World on a UK SNES, it feels wrong to me. The timing and speed are off and I have a hard time adjusting to it. Same goes for everything else.

Yes. Each offer ends within a day of the next one beginning. The listings remain, but they're unavailable to buy.

Is there a way to check if my wiiu has updated?

Just go into the system settings and manually force it to check for the update - it'll either start the download or say you're all set.

This is the setting you're looking for:

Wii-U-Version-2.1.3-U.jpg
