Especially if they are the 60Hz versions, the only full speed version of Mario 64 I've played is the DS version. Those prices work out the same as the Wii VC prices don't they, SNES games were 800 points on that

I hadn't noticed the prices. They're a bit of a jump from the Wii ones, aren't they?

Sigh.

Hmm. So they are. In fact, they're 10p cheaper.

Bloody moon points clouding the prices :)

I'm not paying that for Mario World when I already have it on Wii... but I'll pay a quid to upgrade it. I wish they'd hurry up with that... part of me reckons that they'll be really slow with it and when it's finally revealed, it'll be borked in some way. As in... you can only upgrade the games that also exist in the WiiU VC shop... which means I wont get Tactics Ogre on WiiU for years. Grr.

That's exactly what they are doing. it's not an upgrade of the original file it's a recognition that you have bought it already and a discount applied to the new version. You will have two separate versions of the game.

Nintendo really do seem to be sqeezing the faithful don't they. They finally give in and go 60Hz (because lets face it they had to given the constant bad publicity it generates for them and the casuals aren't going to buy these titles) yet slap utterly ridiculous prices on titles. One step forwards, two steps back etc..

A further question. I haven't done anything with my Wii since getting my Wii U. How do I transfer all that junk over and do I need to or do Nintendo already know that I own these titles because they're on my stars account or whatever it's called and I can just download them at the reduced price?

Open the Wii mode on your Wii U and use the app there. It tells you everything you need to know.

So when is the VC out?

Tomorrow.

Well, "the day after the system update", which was technically, late last night. So possibly late tonight.

Some people who are able to count to 50 and 60 in under a second were ranting that their 30p game was, frankly, fucked beyond playable.

I thought Kirby was 60Hz like most of the recent titles, and it was only Balloon Fight that was 50Hz.

There's something deeper at work here. They are sitting on a better version, one they could have given you for no extra effort to themselves, yet choose to give the worse version, like some sort of calculated insult. "It was good enough for you then, it's good enough for you now!" The low price is immaterial.

And anyway, it's only because everyone complained about it back then that we are getting the 60Hz versions now!

My two cents on the matter is that, if they are able to give the 'better' 60Hz versions to us, they should. And that, if the difference affects gameplay like it would in racing games, they should release the 60Hz version.

I'm not going to not get something if they release a 50Hz version though.

My cousin made a post on Miiverse all excited about getting the number one score in the world in Rayman's Cups Challenges, but it turns out the Leaderboards are a little bugged? Anyone else noticed that? I've not played it to see; just the first level which just seemed the same as the older demo, which I didn't really like, so I turned it off.
