Nintendo Wii U

Picked up a wii u last week on a bit of a gadget whim, had time to properly play it over the weekend, and im really enjoying what ive seen so far. Netflix seems to work especially well, and it has the super hd option, which my 360 doesn't. Spent many happy hours on Lego city too, and im currently downloading need for speed. Haven't hardly touched zombiu yet, which is the game i thought id be playing the most!

The wife insisted in watching TV tonight... So I played Arkham City on the gamepad. I wish the new next gen machines had screens in the controllers too.

They probably will. PS4 at least seems to support streaming to Vita as a standard feature of the OS, so it should be supported by all games. Microsoft is probably cooking up some more 'stream-to-your-phone' stuff too.

Do you have a disc in?

Yes, at all times. It makes a bit more noise when loading a game, but I can only hear it if I turn the volume down and sit closer to the console.

Quick google suggests all wii u's do it and Dekay is hard of hearing!

This is possible, but I can hear my 360 from inside a cupboard, even when it's idling :)

Scott buy Runner 2 already and splurge about it please.

I bought it! I played it last night already though so imagine I'll never play it again; I was already on Street Fighter this evening for five hours instead. I did do a wee Runner 2 Miiverse drawing though.

EDIT: Just checked my stats on the activity log thing: I've used the browser for 15.5 hours this month so far, netflix for ten hours (though I use it on 360 more due to US netflix), Miiverse for 7 hours 22 minutes and then in fourth place is an actual game; NSMBU with 5 hours played. Maybe I don't actually play games.

Runner 2. The loop the loop. Is that a troll?

The cone in the middle is the position of the stick. Just make sure it follows the guy as he runs around the loop - the closer you stick to him, the more points you get.

The introduction of dancing has really fucked me up though, I keep hammering the dance button for more points between obstacles and then crashing into them.

No NHL 14 for Wii U. I'm not a fan of EA and its practices, but as I think it's now clear that we've seen the last of the company's Wii U support, I'll be disappointed not to get future Criterion racers and, despite FIFA 13 being a shoddy effort, nothing that exploits the potential of the GamePad as far as football games go.

Bizarrely, none for Vita either. EA are really outdoing themselves this week with their pulling of their Playfish games and this.

Another kickstarter project adds Wii U (and 3DS, and Vita) to the stretch goals list:

Looks like potentially something for the Advance Wars lovers out there - at least until Nintendo finally get IS to pull their fingers out and deliver us a genuine new one. Come on already!

Why aren't they just focusing all of their resources on 3DS? A steady flow of games all the time, 3rd party, piles mores R&D money and less apologising. An under the TV box just seems like a bad idea for them as a company at this point.

While I'm fine with another GC, it seems they're spreading themselves a bit thin.
