Hmm I'm not sure about that. Ive been hearing lots of amazing stuff about how good legends is. Maybe there's another reason for it slipping.

It's more the ACIII order cancelation I was referring to :)

Have the prices started coming down yet online? I'm long past the point of paying £45-£50 for a game. No matter how good it might be. Amazon (where I'm most likely preordering my machine) still seems stupidly high.

Highest price I've paid so far is £31 for Scribblenauts. Just wait for deals and vouchers.

No cross game chat is stupid, but I don't get the uproar about achievements. Which part of the current PS3/360 system is missing that you really want? The fact that it's a fixed system that all games must include?

I dont care about numbers what i do like to do is bring up my friends gamercard and have a look what he has or hasnt done in games compared to me.

Isn't Miiverse functionality going to give you a much expanded version of that? Granted, developers have to build some of the better stuff in (although each game will have a message board type thing people can post their progress and comments to without them doing anything), but I'd rather have functionality tailored to the game

Look at Halo 4 - it has loads of cool stuff built on top of the single and multiplayer modes, tracking your progress and rewarding you for it, but the actual achievements themselves are rubbish. They always just feel so detached from the game, and I have no interest in comparing them with my friends.

What they have shown so far no, they havent shown a history type function or anything like that as far as im aware, just you can post messages and screenshots but then it isnt mandatory so devs dont even have to support miiverse at all.

According to someone who's translated the Japanese Wii U FAQ on NeoGaf, SD cards cannot be used to expand the internal flash memory and you can't download to them either. So USB storage is the only way forward in that regard. Very strange decision.

If it really does come down to wanting to compare historical progress in getting achievements with someone else then yeah, it's not going to be something built into the system.

The ability to post messages and screenshots will be there for every game though, it's built into Miiverse without developers having to do anything. What they do need to build in are any fancier uses of it - things like automatically updating your feed when you do something in game or having Miiverse messages appear in game.

I thought they had to go out of there way to support miiverse thats why some launch games dont have full miiverse intergration?.

Full integration being things like pulling in Miiverse comments and automatically posting to Miiverse. Everything will have the message board type functionality by default and taking screenshots is a system level feature.

I still cant believe we are days away from launch and are still unaware of what the fuck this system does and doesnt. I can see alot of people being pissed when they find out it doesnt do party chat for example. Nintendo have done a very bad job of this whole thing, i mean we are paid up member of the geeky gamer squad and even we dont know the full deets on the thing.

no - only for fancier type things.

I've always had this funny thing with achievements in games... if achieving something in a game is rewarding, then surely the reward should be in the game itself. If I manage to pull of some ace moves or do something great - isn't it better if my wee mans in the game gets something for doing that, rather than some detached 'gamerscore' increment that I really REALLY don't care about?

If I manage to, say, beat a NSMBU level in record time - maybe I get given a wee costume or something else... which I can then screen grab and post to my mates and say 'hey - look what I got for doing 10 triple jumps in a row' or something... isn't that better?

I can understand why folks aren't happy with cross game party chat not being there. It's not something I use, but that's because I have no friends...

I'm aware of what it does, it was explained pretty well in those videos they released last week. Maybe you should watch them.

Like i say i dont care about numbers (i have a massive one) i care about looking at a friends played list seeing if that fucker has managed to beat a game on hard or did some other hard thing that i might then go and try and do myself. Thats all automated done for you on 360 its there at all times years apart. Now in miiverse im going to have to hope my mates go out there way to post what they have done and take a screen grab and hope a few weeks down the line if might still be there. I think people get the wrong end of the stick most of the time with achievements and think its all about epenis numbers when for most it isnt for that at all.

Ive watched every single one mate, and all the ninty directs but im still unaware it didnt have party chat system till someone on a internet forum did lots of translating and then speculated it wasnt going to be in there.

this is the first gaming hardware that's been released in my entire lifetime i know next to nothing about. i know it's a big iPad and something to do with the TV. saw an advert last night and it was just confusing: couldn't understand what was supposed to be happening. Nintendo are up there with Microsoft when it comes to marketing. is this gonna be another dead lemon like the 3DS which i warned you all was a stodgy turd destined for failure, and nobody believed me, and now look at it: nobody cares.

i mean the thing i've never seen anyone play despite living in one of the most densely populated cities in the world that was cut to half price about a month after its release and continues to boast not one single decent game let alone a system seller and has been re-released as a bigger, more expensive thing that i've still never actually seen anyone use. that one.
