Nintendo Wii U

The person who wants BioShock ultimate already has a PC, PS3 or Xbox or a combination there of. There is no one in the world who desires to play that game and does not yet have a platform to play it on.

Yes having a distinctly "better" version on wiiU would have hurt them.

Jesus.

I suppose it all comes down to whether the WiiU is meant to be a unique home to unique games (as with the Wii) or a conventional console for mainstream genres that also shipped with an innovative controller. Certainly Nintendo spent a fair amount of time trying to convince us of the latter, and publishers have been putting enough ports into it to suggest that they're convinced too.

Are people really loudly proclaiming they don't care about having what looks to be an early GotY contender on their console when a few pages ago they were wanking themselves into a frenzy about a months old mediocre racer getting a WiiU release? I'd post that Simpsons lemon sucking gif, but I fear I'm overusing it.

Regardless of intended market and 'people will have the other console to play it on' there is simply no denying the fact that it's daft there isn't even a 'no gamepad' support version of tomb raider and bioshock infinite.

I would have bought tomb raider on the WiiU but I couldn't. I won't buy it again if it gets a late port. I doubt this is unique to me.

Of course I'd like it... But it wouldn't have made much business sense would it? Would the money spent to develop BI on wiiu be worthwhile?

You could argue that Nintendo could have ponied up... But what return would they have got?

I'll pick it up for my PS3 at some point

I would love to see a game like Bioshock or Tomb Raider on there, not because I would want to play them as I have a PC bit just to see that the machine could do one of these frankly stunning next 0.5 gen style games. The whole CPU/GPU thing etc.

No matter how great Lego and MH3U can look in places they don't push the system at all. Not that it REALLY matters as they are both gonna be great fun.

It's one of the biggest releases of the year.

They would have based their decision before they knew the system wouldn't sell all that well.

They could have released on a system where they might have guaranteed another million sales and pushed the system forward as being "the best console version" but they chose not to bother. That shows contempt for the system. Either that of it shows its hard to port. Either way its not good.

Nintendo would have fucking LOVED them to release it day 1 on Wii U.

I'm with you. Screw buying or playing the games, what disappoints the most is how we've been denied a year's worth of hot, steamy Digital Foundry face-off action and subsequent fanboy wars in the Eurogamer comments sections. It's what gaming's all about.

It's not I don't want the big third party releases on the Wii U, off screen play is a big enough of A bonus. But Scott is right it won't make a lot ofdifference to the success of the machine, since you cwn get very nearly the same thing on Xbox or ps3 for cheaper. Nintendo needed to.invest their money pile in funding a ton of *new* games unique to Wii U, and seriously beefing up first party capability. That's the balls up. Not securing Tomb Raider is a minor sin in comparison.

Lol, I like to come in and have a harmless poke at scott as much as the next person (he is an easy target now that the wall of nintendo money has fallen), and he always seems to take it in good humour but you guys are ruthless!

Let the man be happy about spelunking!

Totally. It's inexplicable that a company with as much A-List IP and so much money to invest has such a barren release schedule for it's new console. It's like they want people to get *pumped* about ports of XBLA games to their most powerful of the previous gen consoles.

Spelunky. Just cos everyone`s played it doesnt mean everyone else has. Especially those who have upgraded from wii (is it on wii I dunno!) Why stop with Spelkunky? Why not get a big chunk of the titles wiiware missed out on from xbox live and playstation network? I just want age of booty on WIIu is that too much to ask? And darkstalkers. Cant believe that pass WiiU by .

Pumped. ~
