Oh man. If I'd held out a few more days I could have got that £199 HMV Wii U premium bundle with Nintendoland and Zombie U, then bought Mario, and it woulda still been cheaper than the £265 I paid. Ah well. That sounds like a brilliant deal, though.

With a bit of luck they'll offer everyone who bought on months within launch a free game(s) or some kind of ambassador set.

£49.99. I caved and just bought it off the eShop rather than getting a physical copy since the disk would never be out of the Wii U.

my thinking as well... I'll never sell it or trade it on... I'll play it forever... and I had a fiver eShop voucher to use. (My second one... eeks)

If Nintendo lowered the price it'd be a smart business decision to increase demand and aggressively push the system. When retailers lower the price, it smacks more of a panic move to clear out immobile stock to make room for something more profitable. If Nintendo isn't careful, they'll lose lots of shelf space over the next few months, just like the Vita did.

It has reasonable presence here, considering Holland is usually a bit backwards when it comes to games. The odd one out is Dixons which for some reason does sell accessories like Pro controllers, but no consoles while they do sell the original Wii and the 360/PS3. Some retailers have been faffing about with the pricing here too, reducing the premium version with €50 which is pretty unique as they're never keen on pricedrops here, fucking tight bastards.

Both games annouced by Capcom at PAX are coming to Wii U:

Originally released in 1989 on the Nintendo Entertainment System, DuckTales was widely acknowledged as one of that generation's seminal platform titles. Taking its cue from the Disney cartoon series of the same name, DuckTales Remastered follows the adventures of Scrooge McDuck as he explores differently themed worlds to collect their treasures and become the world's richest duck.

DuckTales Remastered has seen the development team take the levels and layout from the original 1989 release as a foundation before expanding upon them to significantly enhance the gameplay experience but where this update truly impresses is its graphics and sound. All of the visuals from the 8-bit game have been beautifully re-created as hand-drawn and animated sprites, across a backdrop of luscious, re-envisioned level backgrounds. Furthermore, original Disney Character Voices talent, including some from the cartoon TV series, bring in-game characters to life with charm and wit, while the classic melodies of the original soundtrack are given a modern twist.

Further additions to the original include an all new tutorial level where players can get familiar with the iconic pogo jump and cane swing; while Scrooge McDuck's Museum allows players to track all their stats and compare their progress with others via global leaderboards.

A Disney Interactive licensed property, DuckTales Remastered is being developed for Capcom by WayForward and is scheduled for release digitally on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft® and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii U™ this summer.

I downloaded Most Wanted U too.

Against the odds, Criterion have once again made a racing game I'm enjoying playing.

I disliked the racing in Burnout Paradise, but I can follow the checkpoints and race at the same time at the same time in this. No missed turns or needing to look at the minimap shitness. And the courses are far more fun to bomb around than all those endless dull country roads of Hot Pursuit. I just did the first most wanted event and it was completely ace.

I should have bought this on PS3 sooner, but there you go. This version looks significantly better than the PS3 demo I played last night. And the gamepad motion controls make me want Mario Kart U like fucking now.

Ok, I know Nintendo get a lot wrong, no easy way to transfer purchases to replacement machines, etc, but I finally sent off my faulty gamepad last Saturday and it's just been returned fully repaired along with a letter telling me that my Nintendo Consumer Warranty has been renewed for an additional twelve months. Fantastic service.
