Nintendo Wii U

You know, people used to complain that the Nintendo 64 release schedules were barren, but even early on they were fertile oases compared to the Wii U schedule. And crucially, the best N64 offerings looked astonishing (for the time), really genuine leaps over the competing formats of the day so you felt it was worth waiting around for the prime content. You'll never be able to say that about the Wii U, let's be honest.

Shouldn't Pikmin 3 on that list somewhere? It's due somewhere before summer, isn't it?

Yeah that's around june as well.

Anyway the summer is always pretty barren across all formats. It's actually been getting worse and worse over the past few years as third party's load up releases for Christmas (then wonder why they fail to sell).

Lets put it this way.. I started a thread to track upcoming WiiU releases a few weeks back.., safe to say it hasn't needed much updating so far (other than bumping stuff due to cancellations/delays) and won't do anytime soon either by the looks of things! :(

There isn't so much a lead time between announcing a release date and actual release dates. None of the big hardware companies have actually announced their release schedule beyond June (apart from Wind Waker HD off the top of my head) so presumably it'll come at E3.

Any news on when windwaker is out? That would be nice to play in summer again. Pretty sure I`ll be playing resident evil again, but besides download stuff I guess thats it.Oh need for speed too if its as amazing as it sounds. I was hoping to bury my 360 after I got this but its probably going to get more play time this year.

The date for that was thought to be September but in truth noone really knows. Given that this is nintendo and they are tinkering about with the game to make it better then I wouldn't be surprised to see a delay until November. The trouble there is that it's thought that a new mario galaxy and a new mario kart could hit at the end of the year. It would backload the end of the year hugely.

'Fall'. Fuck knows, Nintendo have gone to the other extreme and announcing stuff a few months before release. Mario Golf was in last month's Nintendo Direct and was the first anyone had confirmed of it existing and it's out this summer.

I was hoping to be playing Rayman Legends by now but that's a no-go so when's Pikmin 3 out?

November

Seriously?

I thought Pikmin was June.

It's supposed to be released in Q2, whatever that means. But presumably if it actually was being released by June they'd have set a date for it by now

^--This.

The fact Wii U came out with New Mario only showed how uneventful even Nintendo's own software was, compared to the past. Wii U can do impressive stuff, it's just mind-numbing why they chose the titles they did for launch. A near re-repeat of the problems from the 3DS launch.

No, I mean actual release announcements. Most of the stuff that comes to mind is third party.

The things we already know about are either standard releases (FIFA etc.) or are delayed (GTA, Rayman). We usually have to wait for E3 to get an idea of what's coming for Christmas.

What about wii fit u? Surely that will be out this spring/summer. I enjoyed the minigameygames of plus but found some of the main exercises impossible to follow without craning my neck all the time to see the telly. the pad actually seems like a useful addition for that.
