Don't bother with screen protectors!

Ones I got off Amazon made screen completely unresponsive and dead. Fine once they were removed.

I got a hori screen pro for a fiver from Grainger Games (I imagine Amazon stock them) and it has been completely fine. If you're after a decent solution I haven't had a problem with it at all.

Strange, those are the ones I got and screen was dead with them on. Mine's a basic btw (not that it should make a difference). I tried switching off and re-synching etc. Google suggested it was the screen protector and that's indeed what it was.

Im using the official one and its fine for me - well worth screen protectors as it a social console - letting people play it who are not normally game players they may apply loads of unnecessary pressure on the pad. I’ve seen demo pods! and I’ve seen people try too hard on ouendun (lol relax and less haste)

Game central london has its own brand ones + stylus for £2 at the moemnt - ive not tried it but might be worth a punt.

edit: holy magnify glass batman!

I have a six year old boy and a 250 gadget. Sometimes his friends come over to play. You would want screen protectors :D

Yeah my 3 year olds battering the shit out of the WiiU screen thanks to Pikmin on Nintendoland... I need to invest in some protectors ASAP.

In fairness to her though she's bloody good at it!

This is the first mover disadvantage where whoever ships first gets to wake up publishers to the fact that there won't be a 100m-strong installed base on the next gen for quite some time.

Every time, though, they expect they can just shift their franchise onto a new generation and keep selling a bazillion copies.

Yeah, I agree with ramone. Nintendo, for all their painful Redknapp family adverts and weird 'celebs' playing the DS/ 3DS have totally not bothered with advertising the WiiU as far as I can tell (or stopped since launch). Whether this is because of waiting for price announcements about the PS4/ 720 or just planning a re-launch, who knows. Undeniably though, they are aware that it's not a very strong draw to people other than early adopters that were going to buy it anyway (the people in this thread for instance). I imagine when Mario Kart or 3D Mario or other big names are out, we'll see loads of wanky lifestyle adverts again and a bigger push.

For all the (understandable) grief it's got, I think it will end up doing quite well, it won't do Wii numbers but it's definitely a machine that needs to be played (and with friends) rather than just seeing vids of some games or hearing about it. NintendoLand is bloody great 4 or 5 player buy playing it 1P on a demo pod with a locked down gamepad just really wouldn't sell it. They need to set up Mario Chase 'events' or some crap, almost like SONY did with chucking the PS1 with Wipeout into clubs and that.

No Alex. The only problem with the WiiU is it's high price and almost total lack of games and the fact people are all very poor nowadays. The very fact Nintendo aren't promoting the machine suggests they know that at the moment the WiiU isn't really a compelling purchase. But they will release games, the price will come down and everything is going to be absolutely fine, trust me on this.

The telling thing is even without games most WiiU owners are pretty happy with their purchase, it really is a great little machine. You should get one.

Nice post

I seriously think WiiU owners are through the worst of it now.. Once Lego Undercover arrives it opens the way for a steady stream of promising releases! .. Can't wait!

But this is exactly what they do do though...

FIFA - bigger than ever

CoD - bigger than GTA

Madden - trundling along

NBA 2K - bigger than ever

GTA - still not exactly losing money either, even if it lost the crown to CoD

The winners aren't running out of steam just yet. You don't need 100 Million units, you need 30-50 Million active buyers of new product.
