He's clearly just speculating, mushashi.

Despite Nintendo going out of their way to explicitly state this is not the case, and the speculation starting because people misperceived the announcement about combining dev resources, Camel?

Well when they fail to do 100 Billion JPY, they might I suppose, but going from 2 revenue sources to one, that sure does sound like a policy Nintendo would pursue ;)

It's so strange that I even though I love Nintendo games, I'm just not tempted even at £200. None of the current games appeal and I just think I may as well wait for either a price cut or for some games I can't live without appear. Lego City looks fun but still not worth £200. Plus I've got loads of 360 games left to complete/commence.

Seem's like Ubisoft is having a sale on the American E-shop. Prices of all software reduced by 1/3. Also there was an announcement of a free Rayman challenge mode coming in April. look's like they are trying to repair the damage they did with the Rayman delay backlash.

has anyone done the VC transfer then upgrade thing? How does it work? I'm not averse to paying to get some of my VC stuff playable on the gamepad with savestates.

Nobody has. You can't do it yet.

Does this mean all games on VC-U will be 60hz?

You'd like to think so, but it means nothing.

Sorry, my own silly terminology between my chums, I mean grizzled like an old warrior or something i.e. powerful. I realise that isn't remotely the correct meaning and there was no way of anyone else knowing what I was talking about.

Although I do hope it has bears.

I dont get this at all...a 299 console to play..F-zero? Does everyone throw out all of their old machines? I've paid for F-zero about 3 times in my life, and there's a perfect version on my modded xbox on zsnes, with every option and save state youd ever need. All this transferring, extra payment, 50/60hz unsureness, there'll be no scanline options, ....i just dont get the excitement. Its a good game but my god, there are way better ways to play it.

Oh and just to lift this post from whinging, who knew that F-zero is a play on the name Formula 1, ie it's the next step up from F-1....F-0. I didnt know that for ages.

In the bin? Oh man. But yeah i dont see the joys in using a Wii U to play dodgy Nintendo VC stuff. 60hz being a great celebration...that should be the bare minumum. Look at the Streets of Rage pack on XBLA..scanlines, full region change, 9 versions of SOR, save states, screen panning / scaling, fully configurable controls. Nintendo drop a rom on their store and people rejoice that it runs at 60hz. Madness.

I have a SFC with a Double Pro Fighter connected to a CRT and play SNES games from floppy disks. Do I win the thread?

32meg device? You do if youve got some fan translation like Mana 3 on disk.

The thing that is a bit of a shame (for me) with these anniversary VC releases on WiiU is that Nintendo gave me them all (and more) on my 3DS with the Ambassador program and because they are different instances of VC, I can't just play them on my WiiU anyway, which would have been much better in my eyes. Although not exactly the same, at least if I buy something on my Android phone I can play it on my Android tablet. 3DS VC eshop games should really be playable on the WiiU if you ask me. Oh well, it is Nintendo and their weird 'tied to a console not an account' behaviour.
