Nintendo Wii U

I wonder, if they had upscaled Wii games, if it would have made a difference to early sales...

Your television is kind of upscaling them anyway. It depends on the telly how good a job it does it, like; a shitty cheap LCD is going to give you a load of bobbins.

I don't know, but if this is going to be your argument then why did Sony sell less PS3s than PS2s? And why are they selling less Vitas than PSPs?

Do Sony have same fundamental problem they need to address with Orbis as well, or are the rules different for anyone that isn't Nintendo?

The online stuff is a pretty big buffer for Sony and MS, and Nintendo ignored it at their peril. Oh, and the PS3 still has games coming out for it, so people are still buying the machines.

The Wii via component would be pretty much the same, non?

No. Utter world of difference. Try playing on a 360 through component and then HDMI.

Depends on your set-up I think.

Anyway. The point is that Wii via Wii-U HDMI isn't neceassrily going to give you a better picture than a Wii via component.

It'll give you a sharper picture. Whether that's better or not, given the resolution, is another matter, I guess.

I have done exactly this. I prefer the look of component on my TV.

From saying he thinks they're on a par, to saying he likes component better. I dunno what's going on, mans.

Try saying you like Wii component more than Wii games on a WiiU through HDMI, and I will brand you a mad man.

Like I said, it depends. So one isn't necessarily better than the other.

I haven't seen a Wii-U at all, so I'll reserve judgement. If it gives a better picture than the actual Wii blur-fest then that's great news.
