Well that didn't take long:

Funny thing is I have not found the low battery life to be a problem at all. So long as I drop it back on the charge cradle when I get up or am not going to use it for a bit it's fine. I have yet to have run out of juice. Although clearly I don't have a lot of very long game sessions.

Though how on earth have they managed to get a much bigger battery into the same size package? I bet it's bigger but still fits in the hole as there is spare space? Which would make the unit heavier? I thought that if you had to make a battery last twice as long you had to make it twice as big.

If I play some wii games on the Wii U then transfer stuff from my old Wii next week will my saves made today survive the transfer of old stuff?

I recently got Skyward Sword and want to play it but can only get my old wii sorted next week

But that doesn't mean that the side effect of less weight isn't a good thing. Think of all the negative comments about shit battery life before it was launched and how few complaints there are in reality thanks to the stand.

Then think of all the positive accounts about how comfortable and light the pad was when people first tried it.

I think in hindsight they made the correct decision to go for a lighter / cheaper battery.

The battery from nyko maybe every bit as light due to it being lithium polymer as opposed to the lithium ion nintendo used. Poly stuff is cheap and light and has a good life. It's the type of batteries used in ipads etc.

Yep, someone on the NeoGAF thread said they met with the Nyko folks to try it out and that the weight didn't seem much different at all with the bigger battery.

Also, as a side note, I must thank you pulsemyne for dying in Zombi U. Not that I wish you harm in the game but you really don't know how much the lovely items on your rotting corpse saved my ass just after I found you :D

If that's the case then its the best of both worlds. Wonderful.

I find a lot of his twitter replies amusing, some might think he's a bit of a angry and dismissive man.

Case in point, his response to people going on about wanting pc ports is to tell them to fuck off (not a paraphrase!). In more polite replies, telling you to hassle the publisher is his usual response to questions about ports and such.

TBH it seems the sort of Twitter presence that makes no sense. Most of his posts are dealing with the same thing over and over again on subjects that aren't his domain.
