Nintendo Wii U

It's not a Wii emulator. It's essentially the Wii U running in Wii mode, so other than HDMI out, you're getting the same experience. Except most of the channels won't work and those that do won't interact with the Wii U environment.

I think the biggest loss is no Gamecube controller support - so if you played Mario Kart or Smash Bros with it, then you're going to lose that.

Now here's a thing. I had both my Wii and Wii U on at the same time (using one TV). I only just realised, but the whole time, I was able to navigate the Wii with a Wiimote, without plugging the sensor bar in at the back. THE SENSOR BAR IS A LIE PEOPLE, IT'S A CONSPIRACY, IT MOST LIKELY CONTAINS SECRET BUGGING EQUIPMENT THAT FEEDS DIRECTLY TO NINTENDO. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

OK, new question. I've formatted my Wii so I can sell it on. However, my Wii Shop channels are still intact. If I "Remove Wii Shop Channel Account", will it just delete the settings off my Wii (which I want) or will it obliterate all records of my purchases on Nintendo's records (which would make me want to burn an effigy of Shigsy himself)?

Go to the shop with the old Wii and see if it lets you re-download titles you own. If it doesn't then you're golden.

It doesn't; so that's good. I'm a little worried that whoever owns my Wii next will be able to delete my account or unlink it from my Club Nintendo account...

Really enjoying Arkham City. I bought it on the strength of the love it was getting in its thread and I was expecting the WiiU version to be a bit ropey but it looks pretty phenomenal and the only issues I've encountered are in cutscenes where the drive seems to struggle a touch. The game itself seems smooth enough and flying the remote batarang with gamepad is a bit of fun. I'd dismissed it first time around as a beat-em-up for some reason.

Chances are whoever buys your old Wii won't have access to a credit card so unless Nintendo start accepting payday loans you should be good.

Got a wii U just before Christmas haven't turned it on any more than 5 times and now it just won't turn on, the red light flashes. I would have sent it back but it has a disc stuck in it. Has anyone else come across this? I've been in contact with nintendo but have not received a reply as yet

Greetings.

Can someone please explain how the eShop works? We have a US WiiU and all have Singapore credit cards so we seem to be unable to pay for and download games on the eshop.

Is it possible to buy points cards or something? Can i buy these online and have the codes mailed to me or do I need the physical points card delivered to me? I tried calling our local gameshop but they couldn't clarify anything, telling us they only sold 'Wii' points card and that it wouldn't be compatible with WiiU. Sounds BS but better to be safe rather than sorry so checking with you guys..

PROTIP: On the Wii eShop, if you purchased 3000 points or less then it wouldn't get flagged up by either your credit card issuer or Nintendo, so just bunged in 90210 for the ZIP Code and it worked fine. So perhaps try topping up your eShop account with $20 a go (like once a day), see if that works?

Rayman Legends really can't come out soon enough!.. Just getting worried though as I'm down to 15 demo uses remaining (daughter is addicted to it). You'd normally think 30 would be enough but not in this case.

It's all Castle Rocks fault (or the "Bam'A'Lam song" as she likes to call it).

One question about Nintendoland - Do many of the games require both the Remote + Nunchuck?

Of the multi-player games, only one requires both is memory serves (the Metroid one) and the best ones are played with just Wii remotes + the gamepad.
