Both of which could be done on the screen, i'm sure. Dead Space does on screen inventory in real time.

No it isnt the same... on separate screen you have to flick eyes back and forth tension building as you try to do something whilst zombies may be approaching

Admittedly i'm sold on the attraction of this idea, I'm reasonably interested in ZombieU.

I think something like this could work wonderfully in an Aliens vs Predator game. Maybe have the motion tracker on the gamepad screen.

That's what I've got my fingers crossed for for Aliens. Mind U the wiiu release is delayed?

Aye it is but only by a few weeks I believe. Cannot wait for it the radar in ZombieU has beyond wetted my appetite for it. Frankly unless it's scoring below say 40% in reviews it's a day one purchase for me as my Aliens fanboydom is so high that I think being able to hold a 'real' motion tracker in my hand is worth at least an additional 50% on the score for me.

Hmm, Wii U on its way from Zavvi, due to be delivered on 2nd January. Anyone had anything delivered by DPD before ? Looking forward to some Wii U action this week hopefully anyway :D

DPD deliver stuff to me all the time (A shop I use only deliver with them). They're excellent imo. Send a text and email alert on the day of delivery with a 2 hour time slot and even the name of the driver lol. Easy to rearrange and ask to be left with neighbour etc. Top company.

I've had that from day one, unfortunately.

FYI, i spoke to nintendo on the phone this morning on 0845 6050247 and they are emailing me a sticker to post the gamepad back for free for replacement or repair. all done ion a few minutes with no hassle. also, their hold music is AWESOME.

 nintendo!!!

Good stuff, thank fuck they aren't CItylink or Yodel.

If the controller isn't use as a motion tracker then the developers should be beaten with sticks. Sticks with thorns.

It shouldn't even be a point of discussion as its that obvious an application..

@Mike S

You can send it back to them within 7(?) days, no?

Personally, I wouldn't send it back but you have the right to with online shopping, unless I'm mistaken.

Definitely.

But I won't as I'm as adept at making myself excited for things as I am at putting the dampers on. Once it's here it would be churlish to not give it a whirl and see if it lives up to some of the hype. That said I've been given a delivery date of the 7th-9th January but will be on a flight on the 8th, maybe even a few days earlier, so will likely miss it anyway...

And another yes vote for DPD here too. They are the best of the courier companies by a long stretch for me. (although I do have an excellent UPS driver who texts me when he misses me and then comes back later, which is pretty awesome service) ThE one hour window DPD give you is fantastic and means you can actually use a day instead of being chained to the door waiting on couriers who, if they be city link, Hermes, HDNL etc will, more often than not, not turn up anyway and then leave your valuable package in the rain on the front door step, or thrown over the 7ft wall at the back of the house, when they do eventually show. Total scumbags.

DPD is good news.

Playing Zombie U last night with the headhones plugged into the pad, listening to The Prepper got me thinking about a first person Manhunt - you could elect to have radar if you wanted on the screen and have instructions relayed via the pad/heaphones - you could even use the mic to whisper sweet nothings to homicidal maniacs.

They did that in the original Manhunt years ago :D Having Brian Cox laughing maniacally in your ears and whispering sweet nothings was unnerving to say the least.

Oh I know that, just saying Zombie U really gives me that vibe and I was just thinking how you could use a set up like this to do the same. Such a great, tense game - like this, really.

smitty i had massive diarrhea yesterday so i spend an hour on the shithouse and while i was sitting there trying not to puke from the stench which was horrendous even for my standards i was playing new super mario bros u and a little bit of trine 2

NEXT GEN MOTHERFUCKER let me see you do that with the cell processor

I sincerely hope you washed your hands and the Wii U tablet controller afterwards. Just thinking of the germs running all over that lovely new plastic scares me.

Blimey. I've read elsewhere that if there's a fault with the pad you have to send the entire console back!

I read this and all I can think is ALIENS.......

What a game that would be with the motion sensor showing on the pad, but of course you have to look away from the screen to see it.
