Here's something I stumbled on last night which is awesome. If you don't have kids, you probably won't agree, but anyway...

I went into the Skylanders Giants community in Miiverse. It is FULL of little kids drawing pictures of their favourite Skylanders. I was blown away. These kids have an instant audience of tens of thousands of other kids also drawing pictures of their favourite Skylanders. Some kids who probably can't read and write yet, and they're still sharing these pictures.

Going to let my daughter have a go tonight.

I take it you need the WiiU version of Giants? I might have to buy the blasted game again.

Nah. You can comment in any community, even if you don't have the game. We're still on the original Skylanders on the 360!

Gah! Of course. I didn't think that through. Although I might have to buy it again so the kid can play it on the pad. Hopefully the next one will use the gamepad as the portal of power because I never feel great asking my wife to get me batteries for the portal of power.

Good luck playing the game with two Skylanders balanced on your controller!

My portal doesn't use batteries anyway.

In what way?

framerate seemed a bit dodgy - and the interface asking whether you wanted to just use the gamepad or telly seemed a bit quickly put together. I literaly played it for about 5 minutes, put a couple of creatures on and watched it change then put it away again... but I did notice what seemed to be a dodgy framerate, and I don't normally...

Was very impressed that the TV remote worked it went all the way through to option 9 but worked on the last one as my TV is pretty old and not a very common make I thought that was ace.

I can't wait to make the wife think there is a ghost by changing the TV as she watches.

Software update two thirds of the way through.

Work have lent me one of these for a few weeks. In my excitement last night (at 2am) I set it up and without thinking set up a new Nintendo Network account so I could go online.

So, if I give it back and buy a console later, am I able to use the same account or have I done something silly?

Cheers!

PS: Nintendoland is loads of fun. Shuriken game is brilliant.

You'll be fine, just send the borrowed WiiU and your personal one off to Nintendo and they'll swap them right around for you.

I read about 40-50 pages of this thread last night and despite all the endless bickering and my will to hold off for a price drop has waned and I've decided to get one today. After all, it is Christmas. Sonic All Stars is a must as I haven't got it yet but the questions is, Zombi U or NSMB U?

Depends...

If you like survival horror and extreme tension.... ZombiU

If you like happy fun sunny 2d platformers... NSMBU ... Don't let any possible hatred of NSMB previous entries put you off (unless you are weird and are put off by art style) NSMBU is more like old school Mario 2d games than the mess that is NSMB.

Does it matter if I don't actually buy anything via eShop, etc? I don't mind losing save games as I only have Nintendoland and Mario Bros.

If not, then
