Nintendo Wii U

Think I might trade in nintendoland for Darksiders today.. No friends makes nintendoland kinda boring.

(I have friends, but they're not allowed to come round and play often)

Are you in prison, hence the limited visiting hours? ;)

They really should have called it the Super Wii or Wii Advance

Having the word Wii in the product name in any form was a bad move. We live in an age when consoles and other electronics products (e.g. the iPad) get slightly redesigned/updated models released every year or so, so the potential for confusion by consumers is greater than say when the Game Boy Color or PlayStation 2 were released.

Finished Little Inferno, all combos done, etc. The ending was... interesting.

I loved the 'game' initially, but as the credits rolled I couldn't shake the feeling that I had wasted precious hours that I am never going to get back. Wish I hadn't bothered.

I just don't get this, I mean everything I've read about this 'game' points to the same thing.. there's just nothing there. It's like the game version of being punked. Why on earth did you buy it? It cost a tenner didn't it? The devs must be laughing!

Okay so whats the deal with club ninendo points at the moment. It appears my WiiU has finally been registered, I have about 1500 points but cant use them against e-shop purchases...is that right?

I thought there was something that got you money off things bought on the e-shop, and was looking to try out Mighty Switch Force.

Apologies if this has already been covered, I havent been keeping up.

Oh and for some reason I still cant access Uplay on the WiiU despite having no issue via the 360 or PC. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered but just want to see what freebies you can get for ZombiU.

You're talking about stars - they're not for eShop points.

Try (I think) p.nintendo.net

Cheers. But can't you redeem stars into points?.. or is that somthing different as well?

Why the hell they cant just have a straightforward reward system is beyond me.. I remember giving up on Club Nintendo a while ago, having to complete enless surveys to redeem points that expire and can only be used to get stuff thats mostly out of stock. I know its "free" and as such Im not really entitiled to moan but even still, surely it could be implemented better.

p.nintendo.net it is.. It seems Ive got 75 points from Nano assault (500 needed for a fiver off) but nothing for the WiiU or ZombiU.. may just need time for them to register.

You'll not get points for either unless you managed to download both...

Ahh right.. I thought it was linked into products you registered on Club Nintendo. Obviosuly doesn't help that I've read absolutely nothing about this side of things

No fiver saving anytime soon then... still atleast its better than Microsoft's recent 20 microsoft point "Birthday Present" incentive!.

This has been out for a few weeks now but for those that missed it....

http://www.gametrailers.com/full-episodes/en597n/timeline-the-legend-of-zelda

A wonderful doc exploring Zelda's history and canon while trying to put all of the pieces together. For me it was a trip down memory lane and basically a look back to my childhood memories. Lovely stuff and very well made.

Now don't hang me for this but seeing as I still have Skyward Sword to start do you guys think it's best to play that on Wii U, for the added upscaling or wouldn't that really make a difference?

Played Little Inferno with my daughter this morning, then got the gamepad out later for some Mario. My daughter saw me and said "Daddy can we playing burning things?".

A good one to play with kids, then? Fancied trying it out this morning with the boy, but had a weird feeling it might be a bit 'dark'.

What an amazing console. After the debacle that was the Wii I really thought the big N had lost it. The best thing about the Wii U is the fact its got rid of that bloody sensor bar and the terrible motion controls. No wait, the best thing is that the games look stunning in HD. No wait, the best thing about it is the new controller which is a joy to use and already offers fantastic new play options. No wait, the best thing is Zombie U. Or is it the new Mario game.

There is so much to like, Nintendo have their best home console since the N64.
