As for cod i have that on both and enjoying it just as much, there are less players on wii u but apart from that its the same fun online. You need to have a word with nintendo if the console is louder than your 360 mind.

I tried the campaign just to compare formats. The frame rate in it was such that it's the first time I've ever felt motion sickness while playing COD.

The MP started off well enough but quickly descended into the worst shape I've seen BO2 in. Last night, enemies either looked like they were iceskating or teleporting half the time. Throw in some dodgy hit detection and it can be a thankless task. Not uncommon for COD, but this doesn't feel like a normal lag problem.

There might be one fault of my own. I still haven't figured out the settings. The sensitivity is completely different from anything I've experienced before and then there's that additional option. Turn Assist or something. I guess it must be for Remotes but there's nothing to tell me whether I'm better off having it on or not and I really can't tell through play. I'd just like to find a setting that doesn't feel so disorientating before I give up on it altogether.

I'm off to play mine and have some fun.

Until my headache returns and I pass out on the sofa again from being ill, but, can't win em all..

Actually I'm not sure nintendoland is for me. Because I'm a Billy no mates (well no mates who are allowed to come play). It feels pretty pedestrian solo, but that's ok I have mario and sonic :-)

Hit detection has been fine for me. The online play has also been as smooth as it was on 360 games. Prehaps it was lag, there was always shitty hosts on 360 games, infact barely a game would go by without it stopping and migrating hosts. Oh and thanks to not many wiiu people having headsets its a nice experience. No "niggers!" or "faggots!" screamed at you by some 13 year old.

Use the remote with the Professional preset. Best. Console. FPS. Controls. Evar!

Remote players are too busy exploding foos' heads to need turn assist.

Watched the latest Nintendo Direct on my 3DS last night.

Pikmin 3 looks STUNNING! The bit with the lilly pad on the pond........WOW! Its not been delayed at all has it? Thought it'd always been down as Q2?

Not sure why people haven't mentioned the following.......its clearly stated "Mario has been very busy recently, so he's going to be resting in 2013. Instead 2013 will be the year of Luigi, STARTING with Luigi's Mansion 2".

So no big Mario game till at least 2014........but they clearly imply there's going to be a big new game for LUIGI at some point this year!

This is a very very nice machine all round. almost all the controller options you could want (barring multitouch). The setup and update was very smooth.. the update took a while but not stupidly annoying like PS3. Updates for every sinlgle app and game I tried so far is annoying as the updates arent quite as smooth as 360 (but again not as bad as PS3).

I dont get the complaints about the front end, it is a wee bit sluggish but no more than others can be when you open an app.

The gamepad is very nice, the screen isnt as nice as ipad by any stretch but its bright enough and well built all round.

ZombiU is superb atmosphere wise and controls etc are also lovely, perfect survival horror so far.

As for other bits

the lack of nextgen "grunt" is bound to hamstring the 3rd parties eventually which means it may well go way of the Wii which is fine if Nintendo can keep the AAA 1st party stuff firing.

Miiverse almost gave me diabetes it is sooo fucking "fun" and "happy".. fuck that ;)

The shop had me rolling my eyes... One demo? one poxy demo!? handful of sub £20 stuff with no demos so no clue if they are any good, I might take a punt on Trine 2 as I recall the original was fun. Retail stuff depressingly RRP but then PS3 and 360 arent much better fingers crossed for sales etc like Vita has had!

Ironically all in all after a few hrs use the WiiU reminds me of the Vita, cracking tech and a well put together package overall. Just hope it takes off and gets software support, it would be a crying shame if it didnt! As a lover of touchscreen tech I hope it takes off in a big way.

ok let us not talk about the large hole in my bank balance...

Basically Game tempted me by having the temerity to have a ZombiU pack in stock without having to buy a shitty bundle of tat on top... So far build quality and feel of machine and controllers is very positive

£350 to play a Zombie game*... yes yes I am mad thankyou. I might give that NSMB game a go and I dont have a Wii anymore so it'll be nice to have MarioKart back on the big screen :)

To obviate this change of heart I will not be drawing pointless shite in Miiverse and I shall be sighing inwardly at the positive messages and refuse to "yeah" anything. This will hopefully maintain my grumpy outlook in the face of fun happyland Nintendo :)

I've just done the same bought the Nintendoland pack with Zombie U - just to play Zombie U. It's sitting in its Amazon box at the mo'. Really hoping it's as good as it sounds.

The set up was really painless. The update is about quarter way done in about 10ish minutes. Not great, but not the end of the world, either.

Just realised the Nland games I want to play most (Mario chase, Luigi) don't require motion plus so

I'm happy that I'm not getting nickle and dimed straight out of the box.

More importantly, why will 2013 be "the year of Luigi". Says to me there's going to be a brand new big AAA game, with him as the star made for Wii U. Possibly a big E3 reveal next year, Christmas 2013 release? Possibly something in the Galaxy universe? Maybe something totally different no-one is expecting. Were there any old games, with Luigi as the star, they might be going back to? Intrigued!
