Friggin great......

I come home from work for a night of WiiU action only to find theres a new system update.

I only pressed 'update' didn't I? 3 sodding hours and counting..........

Unplug your router? Should lose connection to the server. Then background download. (I take no responsibility if this bricks your console)

Mass Effect 3 is tempting me, having never played it. But then I never got into 1, never touched 2, so it might be lost on me. Still, it's a good example of Wii U offering something (along with Darksiders II and a few others) for people who have been a bit 'out of it' gaming wise lately. Along with offering new stuff, obviously. All games considered I think it's a decent launch package.

Played one of these in HMV earlier. Controller was much bigger than I expected, although thinking about it, I wasn't really sure how big it was going to be. Vita sized, if I had to guess. It was surprisingly light and very comfortable to hold, though, particularly considering I have gargantuan hands...

Only demo available was Rayman Legends, which looked as beautiful as you'd expect after Rayman Origins. The TV they'd hooked it up to was pretty shit, though (white 'Nintendo' branded one), so couldn't get a grasp on the clarity of the console and I guess Rayman probably isn't the best benchmark. The screen looked nice enough, though it didn't show much during play. Didn't seem to be as clear or crisp as an iPhone or vita but, again, it only had a menu on it so I can't possibly pass judgement.

I want one. I knew I bloody would. I felt I got burnt with the n64, GameCube and particularly the wii and swore each and every time that I'd not get another Nintendo console, but goddamnit, they sucker me in every time. Shame I can't afford one any time soon, particularly not with my first sprog on the way!
