Star Wars: The Force Awakens

It would be rather fun if they expanded on the Sith ideas from the Old Republic storylines...always thought that was pretty cool.

The Darth Bane novels, which are basically the end of that Sith era and the start of the Rule of Two, would make for superb live action stuff. I hope they ultimately end up strategically nuking the EU, not wiping the slate clean, because some of this stuff has no direct impact on the films and are fantastic stories in their own right.

Well,

In the Jedi DVD commentary Lucas says he regrets not putting in a shot indicating he survived, given how popular the character became. And he survived in the EU.

Fucking hell that is low! Just when you think Lucas can't get any shitter, the guy just farts out something even more unbelieveable. It's the classic case of history being (re)written by the victors isn't it!

I understand the sentiment, that you can't just keep going back and continually edit a story, but merely thinking about showing Fett escaping is hardly the most egregious thing Lucas has done. That honorific clearly goes to the NOOO thing before Vader picks up chair palp.

Yeah but none of that shit is in the actual films. Stop reading shitty fan fic expanded universe rubbish. Problem solved

(And that's coming from someone that read the thrawn lot and all that shit like 20 odd years ago)

Not only did he survive, he managed to fall back in a second time and survive that as well!

I actually really enjoyed the story from Tales from Jabbas Palace (A Barve Like That). It gives more of an insight as to what happens to the victims of the Sarlacc (they take a long, long time to die and more) well worth a read.

Might be an idea to think about a Game of Thrones style Spoiler/No Spoiler thread situation at some point. I was hooked on every little tidbit of information during the prequel era and had a far, far better experience with the journey than the destination. I still think back on that time of speculating with fond memories yet would struggle to actually watch one of the movies without cringing.

I'm expecting these new ones to actually be, y'know, good, but I'm still planning on having the fun of the journey.

This forum has a broad age range, but I'd wager most users saw Empire for the first time knowing the twist, yet it's still engrained as one of their favourite movies. Some people among both groups are going to want to go in as blind as possible, and others are going to want to soak up the atmosphere of speculation and hype while there's an atmosphere to soak up.

At the minute we don't know if the information that's out there can be trusted or not, but if it can this thread is getting dangerous for people who don't want to know.

No more puns!!! BWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, but that means he fell in twice.

It'd be different if he went back in voluntarily the second time for a safari holiday or something.

But yeah, I'm inclined towards caution as far as speculation goes.

In fact, come to think of it I dunno how the casting/voice acting would support this theory, unless years of war, old age and cyborgification have made him a bit more well-spoken. Much as I would like to hear some old robo-hermit telling a sarlaac to 'rack off' or something for old times sake.

And he's meant to be a badass?

Or, maybe he isn't? Maybe he's just a dude with a snazzy set of armour and a killer rep but is really a bit of a fuck up?

Ha, whatta meesa thinking! Of course he's a badass, just like the Jedi are badasses and not at all a bunch of creepy, child-abducting fuck-ups that prop up a corrupt and decadent galactic regime.

Regarding stormtroopers, one of the episodes of Rebels has a character infiltrating a training facility for ST recruits, none of which are clones. Regardless of whether or not they were supposed to be clones at any point, they're not now.

Lucas might 'say' that Fett is supposed to be a badass. But the films show him to be a massive dofus with a cool costume. His dad (of which he is a clone) gets killed with no fanfare and if the clone troopers go on to be storm troopers it means he's also shit at aiming.
