Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Mark Hamill's an old ham and mostly known these days for playing bad guys. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out where things are likely to go in this flick.

Things they should make:

i) While I generally applaud Disney's 'fuck the EU' edict, I will make an exception for the one where Han Solo punches a giant weasel in the face. I wanna see that story in IMAX 3D.

ii) A post-Episode IV series about Manny Bothans, superspy. He flies around the galaxy in a tricked out hot-rod with gadgets and shit, chumpin' Imperials, pleasing the ladies, and kickin' space ass for Princess and Country, or something.

Stu, is it true that the EU sperges took that line and decided that literally meant the Bothans entire culture was based around being spies and shadow-ops and shit? I mean, that's what I heard that but it just sounds so ludicrous it couldn't possibly be real.

INT.BRITISH HIGH COMMAND.DAY

"Chaps, the Kaiser has made a crucial mistake and the time to strike back at the Hun has come. It has been revealed construction of the German's new DEATH TANK is not yet complete and what's more, the Kaiser himself is personally over seeing completion of its construction. Many Belgians died to bring us this information..."

Not sure, actually. Loads of stuff in the films are hinted at without elaboration, so they let authors of early EU stuff have at it. It's obviously reined in now, and Disney have someone in charge of continuity, but that's not going to make early EU stuff not sound daft :)
