A rumour

assuming the Luke rumour it's true I don't see how it can be such a big story reveal, given that everyone expects him to be in it but if he's absent from screen for a large part of the film... it will be pretty obvious won't it? Vadar's father reveal came out of nowhere, where as in this everyone will be thinking "Ford, Fisher, Hamill, wait...why haven't we seen Hamill yet oh right he's probably that cyborg villain dude". It's not going to be that shocking really.

Post edited for overly sensitve people.

I would really appreciate it if someone would post the rumours and whatever leaked images in spoiler tags. That link posted to them leads me to a page which says I'm banned forever from that Star Wars site and reading spoilers reactions to something I don't understand is confusing.

Fuck sake guys, even saying it's the:

'Luke'

rumour says too much. Can you please fuck off.

<_<

Hmmm, how so? I put that bit there so that people will know if it's something they've potentially come across already and can choose whether they want to then read the rumour/spoiler about that character or not, rather than a spoiler which could be about absolutely anything about the film. I hate spoiler tags that don't give at least a vague indication to what it's about.

Also, you can assume with 100% confidence that the films will include plot points on every character in the film, so unless that character hasn't been announced simply saying a character name is in no way an indication of what the spoiler contains other than it's talk about a character. It's entirely meaningless. It's already been established, by virtue of Hamill being cast, that Luke has a role in the story. So simply saying "Luke" is not a spoiler in any shape or form. If you really feel that seeing a character name is too much of a spoiler then you really need to stay out of the thread, the internet and probably life until the film is released.

On that subject, a Han spoiler

Han is in the film.

How? We all know Luke is in the film, yeah?

Luke.

He's in the film.

We all know that.

Luke.

Luke. Luke. Luke.

Now tell me what information you've gleaned from this post. If you're stuck here is some more information:

Luke.

So, what's been spoiled here?

Leia. There's another one.

knowing luke is in the film and knowing there is a specific spoiler regarding luke is quite different. Do you really not see that?

or even that "the" spoiler regards luke

I'm pretty sure each character will have specific spoilers about them at some point otherwise what's the point of them being in the film.

I really can't be bothered to argue this demented logic anymore. Read into it what you will, or don't, I don't care. Or better yet if seeing a character's name offends you so much start a new thread because as sure as fear leads to anger people WILL discuss the information that gets leaked about the film.

One for the film, one for the puns, right?

Three threads.

knowing luke is in the film and knowing there is a specific spoiler regarding luke is quite different. Do you really not see that?

or even that "the" spoiler regards luke

The central protagonist of the story is involved with a key element of the story. No.

I'm a strong propnoent of 2 threads, but "Spoiler involving character X is out there!!!!!. Oops, sorry, spoiler!" is not a spoiler.

Which led one commenter on Badass Digest to post this:

I actually hope he returns to the role of Wicket, albeit a Wicket that has been corrupted by the reclamation and use of technology left behind by the Rebel/Empire battles.

Over the 30 years after the battle of Endor, Wicket was able to consolidate his power, laying waste and cannibalizing rival Ewok clans. The capture and conversion of starships for tiny Ewok hands and feet allowed Wicket's bloodthirsty empire to expand outside the confines of its homeworld.

Soon, Ewoks become synonymous with brutality. Those they don't capture and consume, they sell into slavery to the highest bidder.

There is no longer Wicket. What remains is a creature that has extended its life span of 20 years by replacing his failing organic structure with a mishmash of various artificial technologies from the homeworlds his Ewokpire has consumed. Yet, there is unrest on Endor. That which was Wicket has been gone too long. Many of the Ewokpire fear he is dead. In the vacuum, a young, force-sensitive Ewok has emerged from the slave caste. His uprising has spread from the lower rings of the trees and caused many nobles to flee and send out distress signals.

The Devourer of worlds returns, and challenges the leader of the slaves to one on one combat. It has been too long since he has felt the thrill of bloodlust on his own soil. They meet face to face, yet an unnatural darkness forms overhead. Something is not right. Memories are stirring - deep memories from that weak creature Wicket that he thought he had buried. This darkness - this eclipse - is too familiar. An emerald light pierces the darkness and fills the sky. Realization comes too late. In his final moments, the singular image, that of the human child with golden locks fills his mind. His only friend.

The Devourer is Wicket again. No longer machine. No longer cold. A warmth surrounds him - he is the light. The boy reaches out his hand. Wicket raises his hand --

Evil Wicket would probably be one of the most interesting things they could do with all the now quite stale characters.

I still find it so disappointing that out of en entire UNIVERSE or people and races and planets with seemingly loads of alluded to back story, Lucas still thought it was better to concentrate on about 5 people for the period of nine movies. With quite a high proportion of those movies set on a really really dull desert planet (which I know was nudget reasons, like Hoth but there was no excuse in the prequels).

I'm still going to be there baying like a loon on premiere day though.
