Playing the siege of rudehelm earlier. Got to the final courtyard and managed my longest kill as an archer. Spawned inside the castle, ran to a window, fired off two shots at the guy manning the siege cannon at the opposite end of the courtyard, and the second one got him plum in the nogin. Wish I was on my ps4 as I'd save the replay, fucked if I know how it works on the ps5 :(

Had a few cracking rounds tonight, teams that managed to fend off the attacking team more than once, after losing the opening salvo.

 

Killed someone with a thrown head, and a wagon wheel. Was expecting the wheel to be used as a shield, nope, cop a load of that matey!

 

One of the achievement goals is 'the bakers dozen' kill 13 enemies with loaves of bread....

I'm mildly addicted to this. I go from getting appalling scores one round to being top 3 the next. It's a bit cheeky too, just as you finish one half hour epic, it'll throw in tournament grounds or wardenglade and you'll go 'oh go on then' and within five minutes the round is over.

 

Looking forward to the new maps, they need to do something about some of the higher ranking armour as it makes it a bit difficult to work out what side they're on. I reckon that if you're in doubt, chuck a javelin at them.

Gutted I only saved 5 minutes of gameplay. I went to pick up a barrel and ended up with the lance, the first encounter netted me a stupid number of kills. The range and damage for it is off the charts.

 

We still lost, but I was pissing myself.

Can I just add, I have no fucking clue how the point scoring works on this. I was level pegging in tournament grounds on kills, take downs and deaths last night, he finished first and I ended up third. Quite how that works out is a complete mystery to me.

Are most people playing this in teams or solo online? I really like the look of it and quite happy to just jump in myself and enjoy the gameplay contributing to objectives, combat or whatever is required, but not if everyone else is coordinated enough to make solo players useless.

Get that executioners axe and start swinging, preferably against a group of soft, fleshy archers....

 

You can see if there's a group that knows what they're doing, the bridge at Falmire will look like fort knox. I seem to rank higher on tournament grounds and the fighting pit, I suspect due to the fact I seem to ignore some of the objectives and on those two maps it doesn't matter.

 

I know I've compared it to TFC, which I think it you follow the line back to Chivalry it has it's routes in a half life 2 mod which makes sense. It's wonderful. 

 

'Shut yer mouth before I make it my pissing place!' never gets old.

I don't know what's happened with my game but I'm getting continual 'No Multiplayer priviledges on this account' (or similar) errors when logging in. Reinstalling helps but I don't have the patience to keep doing it.

 

Annoyingly I'm getting an error with Titanfall 2 as well (the game freezes when a multiplayer match starts), meaning both my favourite MP experiences are out of action at the same time.

I'm glad this has been kicked back to the top of the forum. I was only thinking yesterday that it's crying out for an update and just like magic, an update appears.

 

I'll get back to tea bagging dead archers in no time.

Just read a review of this and skim read this thread. It sounds marvellous, why have I never really heard if this? I just assumed it was @marsh ‘s excuse for me schooling him on GT Sport 😁

 @marsh if I buy this will you show me the ropes? I’ve had my fill of F1 2021 and want a new game to play

Of course, no idea if there's lobby stuff but it'd be ace to have a wingman on board. Even if it's just to figure out how the point scoring works. I've figured out that assembling ladders and loading ammo on the trebuchet yields a stupid amount of points compared to yeeting archers.

Well, those two new maps are all kinds of amazing. The courtyard starts out as some kind of slapstick 'did you spill my pint?' kind of argument that ends up in a full scale riot. I played it last night where somehow, one of the players managed to survive the whole map as a peasant, who would happily stay behind the battle playing his flute as you charged off into the fight. Surreal. Said flute or any musical instrument can now be used as a weapon, I killed someone last night with a harp, a scythe and a tankard of ale. The range of potential weapons on that map alone is enormous. The map itself leaves itself wide open to flanking with it's many up and down avenues to get round the back and slay a nice soft archer. It's superb.

 

The other map is equally as nuts, trying blow up the ships, blow up the main gates, destroy the town square, before desecrating a grave. They are very welcome additions to the game just at the time I thought the full map rotation was lacking something.

 

My only concern is that in some effort to 'keep up' with the jones's of this world (fortnite, pubg, etc etc) they'll go fucking mental and introduce a new class like wizards or some shit type of force weapon. As it stands at the moment, it's almost perfection for me. And I'm still pretty shit at it, and have no idea how the scoring system works! I die a lot. And looking at the stats, that seems perfectly normal.

In fact the points offered for building the ladders at the siege of Rudhelm are ridiculous. You just have to take the missing pieces out of the cart. I'm glad you like it, I could have talked for hours about it last night on Gt Sport, I think it's best described as the black knight fight from Monty Python crossed with every medieval siege scene you've seen on film.

 

It's bonkers.

Unless  I’m oblivious to it, I can’t understand why it’s not talked about more.

 There’s some true skill involved as well I think , but at the minute I’m quite happy loading rocks onto a catapult and throwing fish at enemies
