Popular Post Robo_1
So with Gamescom kicking off tomorrow, I thought a thread to contain all the news might be called for. VG247 have written up a great summary of why this event is much more about the games than E3, so with some of the industries biggest publishers holding their own presser, we should get a good few announcements, and a better look at this winters line up. Below is a summary of the who, what, why where and when, in order of each conference's schedule: Capcom: Capcom delivered a solid show, focussing on new titles in existing franchises, but the stand out title was their new IP, Remember Me. What We Got: Devil May Cry Resident Evil 6 Lost Planet 3 Marvel vs Capcom Origins Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure HD (Vita) Okami HD Remember Me EA: What We Got: Crysis 3 FIFA 13 Medal of Honor Warfighter Need for Speed Most Wanted Star Wars: The Old Republic SimCity Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel Battlefield 3: Armored Kill Dead Space 3 NHL 2013 The Simpsons: Tapped Out Sony: What We Got: PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale (Vita & PS3) Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (Vita) Assassin's Creed III Assassins Creed: Liberation (Vita) Soul Sacrifice (Vita) The Unfinished Swan Ratchet & Clank: Q Force (Vita & PS3) The Last of Us Killzone: Mercenary Wonder Book - A Book of Spells - Walking With Dinosaurs - Diggs Nightcrawler - Disney (only announced) LittleBigPlanet (Vita) When Vikings Attack (Vita & PS3) Rain Until Dawn (Move) Puppeteer Sports Champions 2 Tearaway (Vita) God Of War: Ascension Sly 4 (Vita & PS3) Little Big Planet: Karting Playstation Mobile (Vita & Android - Couldn't find the montage for this anywhere, if anyone does, just send it along and I'll update the link) Additional News: Below is a summary of the event taken from the Playstation blog: Brand new titles: LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule took the lid of its keenly anticipated new project: Vita title Tearaway. See our dedicated post from the Guildford, UK studio for a closer look. Puppeteer is on its way to PlayStation 3 from Sony’s Japan Studios. Developer Gavin Moore introduces this charming, eccentric platformer below. Looking for a PlayStation 3 teen horror fix? Move-enabled spine-tingler Until Dawn is incoming from Supermassive Games – let the game’s Executive Creative Director Will Byles tell you more. Also coming out of Sony’s Japan Studio, Rain is a dark, atmospheric and breathtakingly stylish new PSN title. We’ll be talking much more about this game in the coming months. We offered up your first glimpse of Killzone: Mercenary for PS Vita. Read more from developer Guerrilla Games here. Vita Cross-Buy: As of later this year, buy either the PlayStation 3 or PS Vita version of a compatible game and you’ll be able to download the other at no additional cost. PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, Ratchet & Clack: QForce (yes, that’s now a Vita title too) and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time are the first games confirmed to support this new feature. PS One Classics on PS Vita: Yes, you’ve been asking for it! From 28th August you’ll be able to play select PSOne titles on your Vita. Titles confirmed so far: Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil 2. New PS Vita firmware: Vita firmware 1.8 is on its way. See our dedicated post for full details of what to expect. New characters showcased for PlayStation All-Stars: A few new additions to the brawler’s burgeoning roster for you: Sackboy, Dante from Devil May Cry, Spike from Ape Escape, and Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank. See our post from developer SuperBot to find out more. God of War: Ascension: There’s a multiplayer beta incoming for Kratos’ latest PlayStation 3 adventure, and a brand new trailer to wrap your eyes around. Wonderbook: After E3′s Book of Spells reveal, it was the turn of stylish detective caper Diggs Nightcrawler – from Oscar-winning studio Moonbot – to take the spotlight. We also revealed two new partners who are working on Wonderbook projects. BBC Worldwide is bringing Walking with Dinosaurs to the platform, with The Muppets and Toy Story coming from Disney. PS3 Essentials: Later this year we’re launching a new line of high quality catalogue titles at a reduced price of €19.99. Stay tuned for details of the first wave of releases. New PS Vita bundles: As well as the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation bundle announced at E3 earlier this year, we’ve a number of other hardware packs incoming, including LittleBigPlanet Vita, PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale and Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified sets. PlayStation Mobile: PlayStation Mobile launches this Autumn across a variety of PlayStation devices. A number of titles were confirmed for the service during the conference, including Super Crate Box, Aqua Kitty, Samurai Beatdown, Passing Time, BeatSlider and Flick Hockey. PlayStation Plus: Your PS Plus cloud storage limit has been raised to 1GB. Rockstar’s peerless Western epic Red Dead Redemption joins the Instant Game Collection line-up next month. Lunatic Sega platformer Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit will be October’s Game of the Month. Ubisoft: Times: UK: August 15th 2:00 PM EU: August 15th 3:00 PM Live Streams: Text Stream Only: http://www.el33tonline.com/past/2012/8/15/gamescom_2012_ubisoft_press_conference/ Expectations: After knocking it out of the park at E3, it's hard to see what more Ubisoft have left to reveal. Numerous quotes points to a focus on free to play gaming reveals, based on their existing IP, so don't expect any Watchdogs level unveilings. Expected Games Are: Assassin’s Creed III Assassin’s Creed III Liberation Far Cry 3 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online Shootmania: Storm Rabbids Land Rayman Legend Sports Connection Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013 ZombiU As Gamescom rolls on, I'll update the 'Expected Games' sections with links to revealed videos. Feel free to post links to these videos, and I'll roll them into the OP.
joffocakes
Yet another day for me to get all excited about a new Darkstalkers game then come away disappointed.
Robo_1
I don't get why Nintendo is skipping Gamescom this year. With 3DS doing well and Wii U releasing in a few months, you'd think they would have every reason in the world to want the spotlight of the gaming press on them at this moment. Are they holding their own conference or something?
Sabreman
I'm 99% certain a Capcom announcement at this point will be Darkstalkers.
joffocakes
I hope it is. Though I also really hope it's Powerstone 3.

Are they holding their own conference or something? There's rumours going round that they're doing their own shown somewhere in September (not in Europe, mind!). Poss. after TGS. So, maybe they're completely focussing their time and energy on that?
Vemsie
I'll be going tomorrow and stay until Sunday. Wednesday should be good, as it's industry only that day. Looking forward to playing Hitman, seeing The Last of Us, playing or at least seeing Ubi's promising line-up (AC3, AC Liberation, FC3, Rayman Legends, ZombiU), Dishonored, Unfinished Swan and tons more. Looking forward to it. If anybody else is going, let me know, I have a busy enough program as it is, but I can always squeeze in some beers and burgers. Lyrical Donut
I hope I'm wrong, but I reckon Capcom will probably save a DS4 announcement for TGS. They'll just announce JoJo HD yet again at GC.

Ferine
Sony are supposed to be showing off two new IPs, one for Move and the other a Japan Studio joint. Presumably the former is Until Dawn, so perhaps Rain is the latter; my guess would be a downloadable PS3/Vita title. EA have to announce NFS: Most Wanted for Vita at GamesCom if it's coming out close to the other versions. I suspect we might hear about Ghost Recon: Final Mission, too. Jolly
Are Namco at the show? Seems very quiet on the Tekken x Street Fighter front...
joffocakes
I didn't think they'd even be showing Tekken x Street Fighter until at least a year after Street Fighter x Tekken's release. The did say it would be a long way off. And I'm not sure they'd be announcing it so close to Tekken Tag 2's launch. I'm always wrong, though. Ferine
Namco are going, but that game isn't on the list. I doubt you'll hear anything until TTT2 is out at the earliest.
mr_woo
Sega are also having a press conference on August 16th, there's an 'Unannounced title' in their list of games so we should find out what that is. I would love for it to be Yakuza 5 getting a western release but it could be another digital release of one of their older games.
