The little snippets on the BBC about Clint are quite amusing.

I'd like to hear about some people coming in, though. As pointed out above, we've shed another 3 squad players in the last 24 hours and we weren't exactly well-stocked in the first place.

I've got a feeling we won't sign a striker before the deadline, and wind up resigning Owen on Monday. Free transfers can happen outside the window, and I can't see anyone else taking him. Not that I'd want him back after playing for United, mind.

Fulham just signed Berbatov. Surely a sign that Dempsey is coming.

I'd be shocked if that didnt happen. He obviously wants to go to you guys, and I dont blame him, nor do I blame him for turning down Villa (if thats what happened, I've heard since Villa are trying to make it sound like they lost interest).

Curious what you guys think of Adam coming to us lot (which should probably clue you in what team I follow). A Liverpool fan I work with was practically doing cartwheels with joy, has he really been that bad for you? It wasnt that long ago when he was sought after by loads of clubs and had a cracking season in the prem. I'm hoping its just a case of not being able to fit in with how you played or that like Lampard he just cant play with Gerrard or something! I'm also hoping that he re-finds his Blackpool form with us, as central midfield is an area we're pretty weak in. He's been quite gracious about leaving you as well, I think some players after leaving a club where their time was considered a bit of a failure (while I didnt follow how he did with you that closely, its obvious that he was disappointing for you to say the least) would consider having a little pop to try and make it sound like it wasnt all their fault, but he just said he was thankful of the opportunity and pleased to work with some of the people he did.

Also, I think I'm beginning to dislike Owen now, though not as much as some of you guys. He's been linked to us a fair bit, and it sounds like he may end up here, but its pretty apparent he's holding out in the hope a bigger club come along and we're like the fat girl at a dance - he'd rather us than no one else, but he'll hang on as long as he can before he picks us. And much like the fat girl at the dance, we'll take him if he does because we're probably better off with him, but we know we're being used in a way, and that really he'd rather be with someone else. And if that is how it is, I hate that, I'd much rather have players come who were happy to play for us in the first place, rather than just see us as better than nothing. Say what you like about Crouchy, he's always been really positive about playing for Stoke.

Any time it seemed Adam was near the ball he was just looking to hoof it 60 yards. He has a good long pass on him though. But honestly didn't see anything else. Except maybe a decent free kick. I think he'll do well away from liverpool though. He just didn't get much of a chance here.

Sturridge was on bench tonight so doesn't look like it'll be him :(

Adam isnt a good enough player for Liverpool, he is an ideal Jan transfer for clubs higher up the league but never a top 6 player - i think he will do well at Stoke too, Stoke have amassed some good signings thus far.

@George re:Adam - the above, really.

Adam is a decent player at this level, but no more. And yes, he really was that bad for us, though in quite a large part that was because when Lucas was injured Dalglish decided to try and play him as the defensive player - and the guy really can't tackle, nor has much defensive discipline. I think that if Pulis gives him a little bit of license and doesn't expect him to be a box-to-box player then he'll be a decent signing for you.

Anyway, back to the shambles of our transfer dealings, Dempsey is having his medical as we speak. At Spurs.

Seriously, our transfer dealings are like a big joke in recent years.

Eccleston is on his way to Blackpool.

What a complete fuck up we are at transfers! We've lost loads of players and brought in 4! A guy who wanted to come to us looks like he is going to our rivals- we really are that inept! I don't think our dealings have been thought through at all, I'll be amazed if we don't struggle to score more than last year this season. :(

Yeah screw Dempsey. Too old as I said. Not convinced on him really.

Bit strange that after Carroll was shown the helicopter that we didn't sign anyone.

Ah well so what!? Let's see how we do. If we'd signed more players the expectation will be higher. Let Rodgers work with what we've got, I'm happy with that.

The whole conduct with Dempsey has been pretty inept, really. Accused and reported for unsettling him before the season started (which clearly worked, given that he went on strike), then go in with an insulting offer and let him get snapped-up by a team that should be our rivals for the season.

I really have to question the ambition of the club at moments like this, I really do.

There must be another coming in. MUST be. Unless Pacheco has impressed?! But even if he does that's only 3.

Pacheco is meant to be back off to Spain, too. We have the 18-year old from Leverkusen who has played 1 league game, Borini and Suarez. We don't have a lot of goals in us, I fear.
