The worst rock bands ever

Oh Danny Boy

Recommended Posts

Hardly the 'worst rock band ever' though. Definitely not as bad as fucking Nickelback.

At least Nuckleback know they're shit. Metallica are so fucking worthy. How anyone can bear that mans ridiculous vocals for more than a few seconds is beyond me.

And despite how bland Coldplay, Mumford etc. are I'd still much rather listen to them than Metallica.

Definitely the worst band ever of all time in the whole universe and beyond.

Metallica crawled up into their own arses more and more, pretentious metal. I've grown to hate the band I once loved but still enjoy the first 3-4 albums, when they were young, poor and cared about the music. That LULU album is an absolute travesty and .. please don't let Lars Ulrich speak, he's a massive cock.

I think they were still playing pretty big venues until relatively recently as well. Terrifying.

Well, about three months ago they played in a pub in Colchester so I'd say it ain't looking too rosy.

Nah, they hold no interest for me now, and I agree with all your criticisms, but there are far worse. They were fairly progressive as thrash bands go, and then they weren't, but they deserve kudos for Kill 'em all, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets:

My vote, and this will not be any popular than the last time I talked about them, goes to:

Everything up to justice is gold. Black album is a good 'rock' album. Nothing else worth bothering with.

Everyone should watch the 'some kind of monster' documentary, it's really funny (especially given how terrible St Anger is)

It's cringeworthy, no wonder newstead thought fuck this and left.

After talking about Aerosmith in another thread thread it got me thinking who are the worst rock bands ever? Thats from any rock based genre so anything under the banner of 'rock' can be included (punk, pop rock, glam, indie etc). I think its time to name and shame those who offend our ear drums and maybe we can get a list and a poll going.

After much inner debate my choice has to be; Status fuckin' Quo! Loved by parents everywhere and unimaginative disco DJ's.

Words cannot explain how awful these are, it hurts my brain trying to figure out how they became so popular. They play the same guitar base in every damn song! They sound like some chancers who picked up a guitar to impress the chicks, got lucky and have just blagged their way through the past few decades.

Scary thing is that i'm sure there is still much worse out there...

'nuff said.

NO THE SHAGGS ARE AMAZING!

When I think about my least favourite bands ever I tend to ignore the easy targets (K.O.L., NIckleback, etc) and go for the shite groups which have somehow gained some critical respect. So (deep breath . . . )

Pink Floyd

Guns n' Roses

Meat Puppets

Metallica (although I shouldn't comment on metal as it's the only music genre I have no time for.)

And worst of all, Queen.

Fuck Queen.

So you dislike metal, basically.

I like Sunn O))) if that counts, and stuff like Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath and other assortments of bands from that era and beyond.

I quite like Guns N Roses first album, and I love ACDC (sorry Dav).

Sunn use very low end frequencies and the slowest death metal riffs you'll ever hear. They're amazing. See also Burning Witch and Khanate.

It's metal pushed to extremes but it's pretty knowing and sonically challenging/innovative.

Is this actually brilliant? I'm not sure what just happened. I need to lie down.

Of course it is, The Shaggs are amazing. Pure outsider genius.

I did say relatively recently :P. According to setlist.com they were 'rocking' Manchester Apollo and the Royal Albert Hall as recently as 2010.

I like all of those apart from meat muppets, who I've not listened to. Sorry.

Oh my God Rllmuk, WTF!! Queen & Floyd the worst rock bands! Both bands are responsible for some seminal moments in music (music videos, album sales, concerts) and have stood the test of time whilst the fads rise and fall around them.

I despair, I really do

*shakes fist at forum whilst clutching a copy of DSOTM*

(I'll give you Quo though, fucking awful bunch of arse!)

I've never managed to get into Pink Floyd, listened to DSOTM a few times and while being a good sleep aid it does nothing for me. I tried :(
