Xbox uses the region you're in not the region of the account. So you can use a VPN with your UK account and set the VPN to the region of the code.

I use MTCGame for games and/or Gift Cards using this method.

https://xbox-store-checker.com/en/how-buy/

You can generally just change the region in the Xbox phone app and redeem the key.

Any decent JRPG's on Xbox One?

I am contemplating Lost Odyssey, as I got it free.

Any recommendations? (not get a PS4)

Lost Odyssey is decent. I enjoyed it back in the day, don't know what it would be like to go back to now.

Apart from that, there's Tales of Vesperia (one of the better Tales games), FFXII (the best one, but take your pick - all the single player FF games from VII to XV are on there) or Valkyria Chronicles 4 (pushing the JRPG title, but it's great nonetheless).

There's the Dark Souls games and NieR Automata, which aren't typical JRPGs, but are fantastic games in their own right as well.

Exclusive JRPGs are a bit thin on the ground unless you go back to the 360 games.

Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean are all backwards compatible. And now I say it, I'm sure Star Ocean got a PSe release.

I don't know if it's any good but Asdivine Hearts II is currently free on The J store:

I played about 25 hours of it before selling the PS2 years ago. I enjoyed it at the time

Farewell Sweet Prince.  I thought you were awesome.  You worked great from the day I got you all the way back in 2013. But as time went on you got a little cranky requiring a reboot once a month. In the end Alexa and Google replaced enough of what you did for me to retire you back into the pristine box from which you came, ready to come back out with your twin when the world needs you once again.

I got my Kinect 2 out last week to try and use it as a webcam in these stuck at home times.

It's a bit of a bummer that I've got the kit so I can connect it to my Mac, but there's no Mac drivers for it, apparently.  Means these things are even more likely to end up as landfill.

I was a tester for it many years ago. I remember trying to be nice about saying it was an absolute disaster waiting to happen.

Should have been rude. Might have saved MS a fair chunk of money.  :)

All Nintendo’s fault. Man, I hated the Wii controllers and what it did to gaming for that period.

I recently did a video on the history of Distinctive Software, which was where Don Mattrick of Kinect fame got his start.

Dear god I'd forgotten the train wreck of the original Milo demo and how obviously fake it was.#

I would genuinely love a tour of exactly how much was in that, recorded or otherwise. I fear it was literally a video "Kate" was timing herself to.
