I noticed that in settings there's an box I had to check to tell the machine to update while it's turned off.

 

It's called "Keep my console, games & apps up to date" in the Power settings.

I've definitely got mine set up like that; it just doesn't seem to allow website downloads to start. Games that are already installed update fine.

Since I set up game sharing with a friend automatic downloads and updates no longer work on my console, I just put it down to that, anyone else have it set up and working that has done the same?

also the win10 Xbox app no longer will power up my console from instant on, works fine if I manually power it up then connect.

 

sent a club application to rllmuk.

So I finally joined the xbox one club as I've been wanting to play Halo 5 with some friends online for ages (that and Sunset Overdrive/Rare Replay) but I've noticed that my download speeds really aren't as good as can be.  I'm on a 60 - 70meg line and am only getting 15 - 20Mb/s download.  Anyone else have this trouble at all ?  Halo 5 is STILL downloading after leaving it on overnight, though it is admittedly 90gigs or so :lol:

I've got 200meg and last night when I was downloading the FH3 demo it never went above 2meg until right near the end. I was able to download from Steam full speed at the time as a test. I've always had very random speeds from XBL, which is strange as normal downloads from MS are pretty quick.

Yeah it's annoying just because I've got a list of stuff I want to download.  Everything else I have is full speed apart from Xbox Live, fuck knows what's causing it.  Funny thing is the 360 always maxed out my connection!

Try changing the console's DNS to Google:

 

https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

 

 

Not a guaranteed fix, but it helped my speeds and other people's.

Cheers for that! :)  I had already looked it up earlier and tried that, didn't work for me unfortunately.  I didn't try every DNS option I found though.  Still it's at least not crawling so i'm grateful for that.

Anyone else use the revolut card to buy stuff on the store?

I bought a game yesterday on the russian store and it all went through fine.

Went back to buy another and it didn't allow me saying choose another payment method.  Looking today, the payment that went through fine for the first game shows as pending still.  Support are saying it's up to MS to complete that and take the money.   Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar?

I can't use mine anymore as it constantly gets rejected, so have gone the route (I think) you previously suggested of buying the credit on the store itself of the particular region.

Ah that's a shame.  It was the first time I'd tried the revolut route and it was nice to not have bits of credit left over in various currencies. :)

Revolut has never worked for me. I spoke to their support and they said it's hit or miss, works for some users, not others. Sometimes for some users, then fails next time for them.
