Does everything save to thr cloud without prompt? I can't say I pay it much attention tbh. I play my Xbox like it's a PS2 pretty much. Don't even bother with that standby mode.

Interesting, never noticed it in a year of owning it. Also, it's not going into instant on, because I see the Xbox logo and the progress bar when I power up. Something isn't right.

That instant on thing happened to me last night fire it up today and it booted from cold. I figured something must've fallen over and it just shut itself down. If that's happening consistently I'd do a factory reset and see if it fixes things. You can keep all installed stuff now it's pretty painless.

Yeah that not closing down properly thing has been happening to mine and afterwards no new update has been installed, amd the console goes into proper shutdown mode, instead of back to instant on, so not convinced it is a function of console at all.

Even if it's nuked, that this is even possible makes the whole UWP thing brilliant. Stark contrast to having to blow the dust off the 360 to stream Starz upstairs because no one can be arsed to write apps for the PS4.

Oh yeah, the UWP aspect of the whole thing is great, and I'd LOVE to be able to effectively turn my Bone into an OG Xbox style emulation machine, but I just can't see Microsoft or Nintendo/Sega/Sony allowing it to happen. It's a huge difference between running emulation on a PC at home or soft modding a console etc and Microsoft basically saying "Yeah sure, you can emulate Nintendo games on our machine, we'll even provide it to people through our store!" There's so many legalities involved in that that I can't see it coming to pass.
