Pressing (on home screen) left on D Pad will give access to friends and other settings without the need to press the guide button.

Double tapping the guide button does the same thing from within any app/game.

Some games don't work with S&R - TR predates it being implemented but I think *maybe* if you don't have auto sign-in set on your console for your profile that might cause issues too as when it comes back on it's not sure which profile is trying to use the console. So when you go back to the game you potentially get that "a sign-in change has occured and you will be returned to the menu" message.

New dash update launched yesterday/this morning some stuff to be aware of. Is anybody in preview having problems with streaming to win10 or connecting via the phone app? Neither can see my console any more I've reported it.

HOW TO GET IT

• If your console is in Instant-On mode, it will download and install the update and reboot to standby.

• NOTE: Once the update is available, you can manually begin the update by launching the Guide and navigating to All Settings > System > Console info & updates.

• If your console hasn’t downloaded and installed the update by 1:00AM PDT 6/29/2016, you will be prompted to do so at that time.

DETAILS

OS version released: rs1_xbox_rel_1608.160624-1007
Available: 6:00PM PDT 6/27 (1:00AM GMT 28/6)

Thanks for helping us test the latest Xbox One update! We’re eager to show off the new features and experiences we’ve been working on. We’ve noted below a few important things to be aware of before you jump in.

• Certain content (games, apps, DLC) purchased in the new Store may only be available on consoles enrolled in the latest Preview update. This means…
• Games purchased on a console running the latest Preview update can only be played on that console or other consoles running the latest Preview update.
• Games purchased via Xbox.com can be played on any console.
• Games purchased on a console running the previous update can be played on any console.

• Certain parental control features aren’t functioning appropriately in the current build. As a result, we encourage users to exercise caution when letting children access a console that is using the latest Xbox One update until these issues are resolved.

• We’ve added several settings that are already found on Windows today. These include SmartScreen Filter, which sends URLs you visit in apps to Microsoft to check against a list of potentially harmful sites, and advertising ID, which helps Microsoft present you with more personalized ads in Universal Windows Apps. You can choose to turn these off and manage your preferences for how Xbox One uses your information in Settings.

FIXES

• Xbox Universal Store
• You can now Buy, Rent, and Play movies and TV shows from the Store.
• Content discounted for Xbox Live Gold subscribers should now display the correct price.
• When purchasing in-game currencies, the currencies should now always appear in-game.

• Game and App Saved Data
When launching games and apps, you should no longer encounter a "We can't save more data for this game or app" error.

• Movies & TV
When launching Movies & TV and attempting to play a video, the menu should no longer obstruct part of the screen.

• Cortana
This update contains several significant Cortana performance improvements and bug fixes:
• Cortana now recognizes many more commands immediately (the exception is the pause and play commands which are still being worked on).
• Cortana will now understand game and app launches better, however, there is a delay while Cortana announces what she is launching.
• Resolved several issues with Cortana launching into a web search rather than launching a game or app after saying “Hey Cortana, launch [game/app]”.
• Cortana is now warmed up and ready when the console powers on or comes out of standby rather than after sign in.

• Microsoft Edge
While playing a video, pressing the left thumbstick to enter full screen mode should no longer cause Microsoft Edge to crash.

CURRENT KNOWN ISSUES

• Xbox Universal Store
• At this time it's not possible to redeem a 5x5 code for Xbox Live Gold on the console. Please use Xbox.com or another console not enrolled in the latest Xbox One update to redeem a 5x5 code for Xbox Live Gold.
• Store pages for purchased games and apps sometimes still show a “Buy” button rather than an “Install” button. If you encounter this issue, please submit feedback via Report a problem.
• The Coming Soon section is not currently available in the Store, and will be enabled in a future update.
• The Store may fail to display content when using certain language and region combinations.

• OneDrive
OneDrive may fail to launch due to an error.

• Payments and Billing
At this time it's not possible to add, edit, or remove payment options on the console. Please use Xbox.com or another console not enrolled in Redstone to manage payment options.

• Profile
• Users are allowed one free Gamertag change per account. After using your one free Gamertag change, you will be charged for future Gamertag changes. In the current update, while your free Gamertag change will complete successfully, attempting to purchase a Gamertag change will charge your account, but will not change your Gamertag. Please avoid purchasing a Gamertag change on Xbox One at this time. To successfully change your Gamertag, visit https://account.xbox.com/ChangeGamertag.
• When selecting “Add new” to add a new profile, the add profile interface may take up to 30 seconds to appear.

• Cortana
• Cortana may take a longer than expected amount of time to use the pause and play commands.
• Cortana may occasionally freeze at “Warming up…” and become unresponsive.
• Sometimes Cortana reports a poor network connection, when the network connection is fine.
• Searching the Xbox Universal Store via Cortana sometimes causes her to search the same keyword multiple times.
• See-It-Say-It sometimes fails to turn on when first launching an app, but will turn on after using a voice command from within the app.

• Pins
If you have pins on your Home to movies, TV shows, or music, they will disappear from Home when that app takes its new app update. The pins for the apps will stay on your Home, easy to get to.

• My Games & Apps
You may encounter an error when attempting to load Ready to Install with a large number of digital games and apps.

• NowTV
The NowTV app may fail to launch.

• Community Calendar
Links to the Store in Community Calendar event details do not currently function.

WHAT.

Mind. Blown.

Oh, and that's how you record stuff too

Yep. I don't use the voice commands anymore. Double tap the jewel, press X or Y.

Just plug in one of your many NES or Megadrives :P

The Xbox One launched with suspend/resume as a feature some two years before RotTR so I don't think it's that. It's just never worked reliably which is odd given Microsofts core business is OS's.

It's worth clearing your cache if suspend resume isn't working. That's fixed it for me a few times.

Suspend and resume always works for me, there are some things that are, on a game-by-game basis, annoying. Eg PES 2016 will kick you out of MyClub as it says the profile has become disconnected. It will resume correctly if not on a network related mode. I assume this is similar to others' issues. It seems like a developer thing to fix though, requiring that profile connection, otherwise kicking you out, rather than just requesting the sign in again.

My main annoyance recently though is when switching between games, 95% of the time it will show the games splash screen, wait a wee minute, then kick you back to the home screen and say it took too long to load. Loading a second time usually works, but it's very annoying.

Also, Kinect keeps turning off, requiring a hard reboot of the console or unplugging the Kinect and plugging in again. Even when it does work, it seems the voice recognition is a lot worse. This has been happening for the past year, but I loved the Kinect voice functionality up until then.

Reviews for Inside are coming in and they are stellar. Giant Bomb 5/5, IGN 10, Polygon 9.5 and CNET: "Inside is a brilliant work of atmosphere that tells a twisted and engaging story. It's smart, bizarre and one the finest gaming experiences of the year."

Oh, one thing I meant to ask: is there a reliable and cheap way of getting Xbox One downloadable titles similar to using the US/Canadian store on PS4? I remember the Hungarian Xbox store had some crazy deals on the 360.

It's far faaaaaaaaaaaar more flexible on XboxOne compared to PS4.  You stick with the same gamertag across regions.  I'll dig out a guide in a bit if someone else doesn't.

Where's cheapest place to buy right now?

I got it from South Africa half the price of Uk store. Get credit at prepaidgamer.com !

What with the plummeting pound soon these guys will be wanting to buy Uk credit to buy their games  already noticed that US games have increased by £6 versus about 7 months ago.

£8.33 on S.African, £8.09 on Russian.

I used this guide.

https://www.avforums.com/threads/buying-games-from-foreign-regions-please-read-the-faq-in-the-first-post.1846057/

I tend to buy from the russian store.

Basically, buy xbox live credit vouchers from the Russian store.

Redeem them on the Russian store,  then buy the game.

I've done the same trick to buy from the Hong Kong store and the US store.

There's other ways like topping up revolut cards but I've never had any problems using my method of topping up my account with foreign currency and then buying on that store from the web.  It downloads to your console no matter what region your console is set to.

Generally you can buy a game fro one region and the DLC from another if you choose.  All under the same Gamertag.

Make sure you select the regions you are interested in.

Russia/India/Brazil/Hong Kong/Singapore as the main ones that tend to be cheapest.  It'll flag up which is cheapest.

I find this one better man - I hate having to filter the stores every time I visit that one and the frame on the page makes navigating a nightmare.

Dunno I either buy credit for the relevant country from the MS store or use one of those sites that sell them relative to the country I want. I have credit on about five countries at the moment it's mental.

I had a theory the revolut was failing when it was setup for more than one region - try removing the details from all stores on the commerce site and add it back for just the one you want to buy from. Please report back if it works!

Piss. Well, where are you trying to buy from? vyprVPN and the MS store or a 3rd party credit code store will probably work.

Was using VYPR direct from Russian XBL, trying using the Russian Store to buy credit now

Edit: Which worked, so will use that method from here on I think. Will just mean I build up credit over time with the change I suppose. I assume buying direct credit from MS is cheapest?
