Xbox One Console Thread

I've added a piece to Xbox Uservoice about the really mixed messaging over the last few days regarding the supposed 4K only display of the Xbox Scorpio.

https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/363186--new-ideas/suggestions/14820045-the-xbox-scorpio-needs-to-be-versatile-and-offer-a

Please have a read of what I've written there and if you agree please take the time to throw a vote up and voice your own take and spread it to other like minded people you know so the message is clear.

If they'd included a directional microphone along with the IR Blaster in the new Xbox-S I'd have no need for a Kinect. I don't really want to wear a headset to watch TV and get the thing to mute.

What about something like this. Plug it into the bottom of the pad:

It's quite daft that it's not built into the console. They've introduced a needless barrier to adoption all the while effectively abandoning those who paid an extra $100 for what is now a microphone and overly expensive webcam.

either way, looks like the kinnect is going to fade away.  Shame, I really liked the voice stuff but that's being carried forward so no massive loss.

The face recognition stuff logging me in automatically was also neat.

Indeed. Also like the Kinect Fitness stuff it's actually really good if anyone has tried it some great routines on there. It also measures your heart rate using some voodoo tech... :D

Ah well... VR is where the new money seems to be... kinect is a product of a bygone gen...

It sort of doesn't matter though does it? The facts are that MS are getting their bottoms firmly smacked in terms of sales. Outside of core gamers, no-one really seems to care about exclusives, more's the pity. There's little doubt in my mind that the Bone has the better exclusives. Having said that, I want to play a version of Battlelfield 4 that doesn't make my eyes hurt, which is why I've still got a PS4. I plan to buy a Bone slim though.

Honestly, who cares how many consoles any of them sell, as long as they sell enough to keep supporting it? Why is it such a highly regarded figure amongst gamers?

Look at last gen, for instance. The Wii absolutely battered the other two, but I doubt many people would say it was their favourite console of the generation. It had some great games, but then so did both the 360 and PS3. Just like now really, they all have some amazing games that aren't available on competing hardware.

Just keep enjoying what you enjoy and let these crazy corporations worry about sales figures. The back and forth between who's 'winning' is what keeps pushing the industry forward.

All Sony have done in the 2 and a half years of this gen is announce sales, delay games and promise hopes and dreams of the far flung future. It's surprising how many gamers have fallen for it.

To be fair they have made the better machine with a faster and easier to use OS that has the best versions of multi platform games.

Wii u is best machine with best game tho, blates

Fuck off Yoshimax.  Everyone knows Sony won E3. ;)

PS4 Release Dates.png

That image misses at least 2 games Sony have set for 2016 (TLG and GT Sport) and all the PS VR launch games entirely.

Suppose you could call No Man's Sky a console exclusive, too.

Both Sony and MS have excellent lineups for the next 12 months. Definitely more than I'll manage to play.
