Really disappointed we haven't had any BC reveals in E3. Particularly now they've solved the multi-disc issue.

There's expected to be some today. Possibly at the Xbox Daily thing they do.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit should be available later today for sure.

That's what I thought too, at first:

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-one-s-doesnt-include-kinect-port-requires-ada/1100-6440844/

Someone's having a joke, anyway.

How King A posted, it read as though he was saying it was £50 and you had to give them the serial numbers too which is mental.

From your link it says $50 or it's a freebie if you give them the serial numbers. That's not a big deal is it?

Or alternatively, he was joking

Nope, I wasn't. I mean't $50 aye, that was a typo, but I did note in my post that if you give them the serial numbers they will send you one for free.

either way, looks like the kinnect is going to fade away.  Shame, I really liked the voice stuff but that's being carried forward so no massive loss.

The face recognition stuff logging me in automatically was also neat.

I understood his post.

No, it's not a "big deal", but it might as well be an abandonment of the device.

I didn't though, it read as a piss take to me!

But yes, Kinect is clearly on the way out which is a shame in one way but personally I have never got into the Kinect games

With voice control now working from headsets & an IR Blaster built into the XB1S, it's obvious they are killing it. It was a big push from Ballmer/Mattrick's Microsoft. It's not the way the new guys want to go.

My most used Kinect feature is saying, "Xbox, watch Sky News," or "Xbox, mute," which really has nothing to do with gaming, and probably isn't a selling point for most people.

If they'd included a directional microphone along with the IR Blaster in the new Xbox-S I'd have no need for a Kinect. I don't really want to wear a headset to watch TV and get the thing to mute.

For what it's worth, I've starting using her on Win 10 (which informs me my Surface doesn't have a mic "designed" for Cortana... so I don't know how that affects the XB1) and it has you reading sentences to quickly get up to speed on your voice, including the "hey, Cortana" trigger. I suppose I've talked so much to Google that I kinda take for granted how it understands me now. The more we all use Cortana, the better it becomes.

Huh?

It used to be a thing that given a set CPU frequency games would be written to use it to time themselves.

So if it ran on something quicker, it'd run quicker.  But the same number of frames would still be one second.

A bad example of this is Test Drive 3 on PC, which I could literally cheat on by turning off the "Turbo" switch on my PC.

I doubt it'll be a problem here, it's just not how games are written now.

Oh, like the clock on mario kart on the snes wasn't actually in seconds so the PAL game was messed up?

I thought you meant timings from the player inputs so obviously they would just be adjusted

Found a Recore gameplay vid. Reminds me a little bit of Gunvalkyrie x Metroid Prime. Looks a little low budget but not many teams seem to make games of this type anymore so I'm prepared to try it out.

Yeah it works now :)

On the preview dashboard forum, someone had posted saying they had an update which made the new Cortana commands as fast as the Xbox commands for the basics (screenshots, volume, pausing etc). Has anyone else had this?
