Price is available. £350 for the 2tb.

 

I've preordered mine, will cancel if I change my mind, may aswell.

 

I've read a few things starting to pop up from  devs that the S has a slightly stronger CPU & GPU and is better at hitting solid 60fps

Just ordered mine as well...shame it's only in white as all my gaming and av kit is black. It's going to stand out a bit.

Well, it's already confirmed to be more capable (HDR games presumably doesn't come entirely for free - more colours must mean a bit more grunt) so I'd not be surprised if the S was capable of holding a steadier frame-rate for those that are aiming for 30/60 and not quite getting there.

Although, the way this article is written, I'd say the worries people had about piecemeal upgrades may well come up (at least for the Bone vs S) if devs are going to end up targetting 1080/30 (or 60) on the S and 900/30(60) on the standard Bone.

 

Worries about PS4 v Neo as well?

The comment about resolution penalties is in the same paragraph as talk of the engine being able to do dynamic resolution so at least in the context of THIS article it just means that dynamic resolution would have to drop down less often.

 

 

Interesting problem for MS though.  If it IS possible to go up to 1080p without having to do dynamic resolution at some point in the future on the S do MS allow it and get parity with the PS4 or insist that it's got to remain the same as on the base Bone.

 

 

I suspect the problem for PS4 v Neo if it did occur would be more pronounced since the performance differential is much bigger between them than it is between the XboxOne and XBoxOne S.

 

Either way, I think people that got in early on this Gen are in for a bumpy ride for the next 12 months unless we upgrade.  I'm going to try not to. Scorpio is the next jump for me.  Neo also but not this year.

I noticed some BC games taking updates which usually points to an emulator revision so I'd expect something BC in the next few days.

You need a £50 adapter. When it launches if you give them the serial number of your XB1 and XB1S they will send you one for free.
