Oh my god I've got my gears of war codes.

Finally got mine too. In fact not quite sure when they came because I've had the XBox One packed away for the last month due to moving house. So it was a kind of surprise when I logged in last night.... :)

As of now your XB1 is a devkit if you so wish.

Microsoft today made good on a nearly three-year-old promise, unlocking the ability for all retail Xbox One consoles to become development kits free of charge.

Xbox Dev Mode is available starting today as a preview and will be finalized as a full release this summer. The mode will allow anyone to build, test and experiment with Universal Windows Program (UWP) development. Converting a console to Dev Mode requires no special equipment or fees, though to fully access the abilities, a user will need to create a Dev Center account for $19.

Shame about the rocks ;)

If you had any clue of what they're achieving in terms of scale and scope you wouldn't make cheap shots like that. Dickish.

Well.... It's a title close to my heart. It's fucking great what they're striving for.

That was harsh sorry xx

Does it matter when it's the first I've seen any evidence that anti pre owned DRM wasn't purely an MS evil plan.

Full disclosure it popped up in my twitter feed in the last hour. I assumed it was recent as no one will admit that Sony were ok with it at one point.

I quoted it not shortly after the console laucnhes and no one gave a flying fuck at the time either. :)

Both companies would love too lock it down if they could.  Sony didn't say much publicly and were just much MUCH better at changing direction when they saw the public reaction.  MS stumbled for a few days with a very confusing message from various MS people and then backtracked.  Damage was done by then (along with the TV TV TV presentation)

How did Microsoft manage to make the Xbox One user experience worse with the new dashboard, my Kinect barely works now unless you shout at it.

Games crash to dash all the time, open the sidebar.... Wait.... Wait..... Wait.... Spinning circles everywhere, so many circles.

Where's the games with gold for this month, oh it's normally on the right, but it's saying Live runs out soon so I can't find them there as they have to peddle Xbox live to me again.

and fucking LOL at Xbox Live being better than PSN, I couldn't even find a game of Gears of War the other night, not a single competitive game, got in a couple of social games but they weren't full.

theres nobody using the damn thing it should be stable.

Yesterday, both my pads are dead*, so I want to turn it off. Standing over the fucker, shouting at it. Does it pick up my voice? Does it fuck.

*seems my son wakes up at stupid o'clock to fit in monster fifa15 sessions.

dont get me started on the pads, the Xbox button is so spongey and seems to detect clicks when it wants to, everything about Xbox one is worse than the Xbox 360, how did they fuck it up so bad.

I must be so lucky with this stuff as I rarely have any of the rage inducing issues many have. On either the Xbox One or PS4.

Anyone else having issues signing in this morning on Live? Launch the console it signs me in but offline, if I sign out the console then connects to Live but it errors if I try and sign in again.

That's just Gears though, nothing to do with Live; the player numbers have dropped off a cliff, same as they did in certain playlists a few months after Gears 3 launched.

Yeah, I've had issues as well.

Seems like my sign in issues were the fault of Virgin Media as Broadband was on the blink. Caused no end of issues with the Xbox, it kept throwing up bizzare error messages all over the place and throwing a wobbly with password prompts that didn't work, a throwback to the always online console that never happened perhaps.

Just been to download some of my digital purchases and COD: BLOPS 3 + Advanced Warfare are sitting there ready to install, I've never bought these or the demo versions ( if they even had them ) so is it a free EA Access thing, or is there a glitch etc?

Be handy if someone else could check, as it may be awesome freebie time, or just a waste of bandwidth :P
