Xbox One Console Thread

Right, while my account says I'm in the preview program (according to support), I'm clearly not. I don't have the option to download anything. I don't see the message asking me to join, although I recall getting one nearer the time of the Win 10 update. It's no longer in my message history. So I'm in but not in.

Anyway! When I first booted tonight, it automatically connected me to live (improvement), but nothing loaded, so couldn't use store. Pressed both triggers + Y and everything showed up! Rebooted, bang, everything is there. :lol:

I don't know why that wasn't on the script for the support person. I spent a good 2 hours in total, deleting profiles, reformatting, and other guff.

edit - spoke too soon. Rebooted again for good measure, it is definitely signing me in before the dash appears, but pins/tiles/tabs aren't working until I triggers+Y, at which point they load immediately. This is blatantly their issue, not mine.

Ok, this is daft. Chat support said ask the official forums to join the preview program, despite my account saying I'm in it. Forum people say they don't have the ability to do that.

Twitter support says ask someone in my friends list to invite me.

I don't see that forum (group not found) and I don't see a preview app in the store. I suspect that, despite what my account says, not having accepted that message means I'm not on the preview program.

I don't suppose anyone has an invite, please?

I can add you via the app but it's not instantaneous - I think the best thing might be going through your messages and seeing if you have the message sent to you when you were accepted and it'll have a link to download the app there. I'll add you again just now anyway there's no harm in doing so.

Sounds like maybe you were accepted but then never took the final steps of downloading the app and registering the console.

So, my console tells me my connection is fine, and Multiplayer is working correctly.

But on the right side of the dash there is the big button to connect to Live. Pressing it does nothing.

I start a game, and it tells me to try again to get my latest save data, or play offline.

But I am online. It says so in Settings, and I can see people on my Friends list who are online.

What the fuck? I'm in the Preview Programme and I did install an update last night.

Is anyone else having the same problem? A reset doesn't help.

EDIT - Another update has just became available. Hopefully that will sort it.

Ah, I should have known there was an issue, not me. Yeah, I've been trying to sort out an issue with that big button to connect to live over the past 2 pages of this thread. It reared its head a few days ago, even though I'm running the stable OS.

All working perfectly now.

I don't know if it was a dodgy update from the Preview Programme, or the fact I turned 2FA back on for my Microsoft account today and changed the settings.

Have you done anything similar recently Stu?

I don't own it - my kids have put about 200 hours into the version on EA Access. I think it's the only thing on access being played though. I assume I can stop our monthly sub to that and rejoin at a later time? I realise the annual payment would make more sense but we've been monthly for ages.

After all this shite, it magically all worked this evening, my having changed nothing since talking to the support guy on Wednesday. Honestly, I never learn. Cable stops working and I'm all over trying to troubleshoot my router and what have you, when I should bloody well know it's not my stuff and someone else's issue.

Will follow up with support to get on the preview program properly though, don't like kinda being on it, kinda not. Cheers for everyone's help!
