Xbox One Console Thread

It's all, unsurprisingly, total bollocks. The screenshot above is taken the Xbox One Netflix app. It seems Netflix allocate all hardware an internal codename - PS3 is 'Rigel', PS4 is 'Pollux' and Xbox One is 'Polaris'. Coincidentally AMD's new hardware is codenamed Polaris - so crazed internet lunatics have put two and two together and come up with 72.

They don't need a hardware revision at this stage, it's not like there's that much difference between the two. They need to play for the future now, with whatever innovation it tweaks they can think of. Emulation was a nice start, decent titles on Gold. Maybe this AR thing, etc.

Gears codes are still going out in batches, I could quote the thread on the games forums but NO ONE BLOODY READS IT SEEMINGLY ;)

If you deleted the message you can go here; http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_support/xbox_one_support/f/5576.aspx

You can go there and report missing codes also, you will be told that the codes are still going out in batches and to wait but still no one will read it ;)

(don't get this kinda trouble in the PS4 fred)

Yeah they are taking a while to get these out! It would be good if they would give a rough indication of when they should arrive rather than "through early January" :-/

Have you factory reset your console? There's been talk that resolves a lot of issues so sounds like it could be worth a go if most issues are since the update

Seems like that was the issue. So far today, Kinect has turned on every time the console has been turned on (six or so. More than most days, but I've been doing it just to check) and hasn't turned off randomly once.

The controllers are still acting up, but my wife has just told me she spilt orange squash on them on Christmas Eve. Apparently she didn't think it worth mentioning at the time.

Today it's broken again. It'll turn on for ten minutes or so if I unplug it from the console and then plug it back in again, but after that it switches off and doesn't come back on. The console seems to know that Kinect is plugged in - when I go to the Kinect settings I get the 'What Kinect sees' screen (though it's blank) rather than the 'Plug Kinect in' screen. Think I'll just have to cut my losses. I can't find anything on the Xbox help pages about this.

Mine used to do that - the final build of the new dash fixed it though and now it works all the time. When I'd previously contacted MS support they wanted it returned even though it seemed obvious it was a software fault - if you're in the preview program contact them and mention that it became intermittent after a software update and they'll likely turn it around for free.

Okay here's the official list announced alongside the Scalebound delay.

If the following list changes in any way shape or form in the next 362 days feel free to post a "boozy" retort in my direction, just don't forget I personally have no control, gain, or emotional attachment to a changed release date. I just find it funny when Sony's halo gets some dirt on it.

  • Gears of War 4 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer Beta in Spring 2016/Launch in Fall 2016
  • Quantum Break (Xbox One) – April 5, 2016
  • Halo Wars 2 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Fall 2016
  • Crackdown 3 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer in Summer 2016
  • Fable Legends Open Beta (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
  • ReCore (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
  • Sea of Thieves (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
  • Gigantic (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
  • Killer Instinct: Season 3 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – March 2016
  • Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Windows 10) – Spring 2016
  • Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
  • Cobalt (Xbox One, Xbox 360 & Steam) – Feb. 2, 2016

That list is pretty disappointing for me personally. I'm interested in the single player aspect of Crackdown 3 and was interested in Scalebound. Nothing there appeals.

Looking forward to Cuphead when that finally sees the light of day.

I went into this with my eyes open, expecting my Bone to be under-utilised, but that's all disappointing post-purchase news. Crackdown was one of the things I was interested in, and there's not much else on that list that tickles my fancy. Ah well.

Disappointing list :(

If Sea of Thieves and ReCore live up to their promise, they'll do me for 2016 exclusives. I'm also thinking of getting Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 on Xbone (because of character transfers) which I imagine would make it my most played console for some considerable time.
