Xbox One Console Thread

Oddly I can't seem to buy games from the US store with my linked paypal - just says it can't process it or something when I try to buy anything. However I bought a $10 gift credit and sent to myself fine

I bought Ori, I know nothing about it other than people rave about it!

Any ideas why I can't just buy stuff via linked paypal?

The joy of Google -

http://www.htpcbeginner.com/kodi-and-plex-integration-with-plexbmc-addon/

Pretty sure that is it, so you see your Kodi channels on your Plex app.

I've just got around to looking into this, but the link that Nick posted above doesn't seem to be the right one.

What that allows you to do is use your Plex Media Server library from within Kodi. Which is pretty much the opposite of what I want to do.

What I want is to be able to run Kodi (I'm presuming as a channel) from within Plex on my Xbox. Hopefully then I'll be able to have the football add-on running in Kodi, which in turn will hopefully allow me to watch the footy through Plex.

Football video add-on > Kodi > Plex Media Server > Plex Xbox Client

That sounds massively convoluted, but I'm sort of hopeful that makes some kind of sense and will work.

What I'm struggling to figure out at the moment is how to get Kodi to show up as a channel in Plex.

Is it possible - I know Yoshimax seemed to think it was - and can anyone help me with figuring it out?

It has UK address?

I had to put a US address somewhere, can't remember where but used a Vpost one.

Even so, why can I buy gift cards but not games - both using the same paypal!?!?!

Maybe the gift part of it makes a difference, I would just buy credit but couldn't find it - what a clusterfuck of a store!!

It's certainly seeming that way. I've spent all morning reading up on it and watching annoying YouTube videos and I don't think it's possible. There is so much misinformation out there though, that I wouldn't be surprised if I've missed something.

I know a few people who've got it running on an Amazon FireStick, so I don't see why it can't be possible, although I presume the Xbox is a lot more locked down. I was hoping to try and bypass that by running one thing from inside another.

I'd love to know what Yoshimax read, just to see if he was mistaken or this is indeed possible.

Jon what I've done (my original post was misleading I thought what you have suggested was possible) is plug a firestick into the HDMI-In on the Xbox then powered it via USB on the console so it's all self-contained. That in combination with sky player etc has made it into my "all in one" media device. (Pun intended)

Ah, ok. I've got Kodi running on my Mac Mini now, which I use as the media server for Plex, so I could just run an HDMI cable from it to the Xbox one then presumably use that as an HDMI source.

I'll do some more playing and see what I can figure out.

Anyone using charging docks for their xboxone controllers?

We've been using rechargeable batteries for ages but with wireless headsets on the go too now needing battery changes has meant I'm considering getting a charging dock for the controllers.

I just use NiMH rechargeable AAs and an Energizer charger, and make sure I always have a spare set fully charged so I can just swap over.

Yeah that's what I'm currently doing but have had an instance or two of running out of juice mid game so figured I'd go the charging dock route like I have with ps4 and Xbox 360. First world problems I know but it's generally neater too. :)

This is the one I'm looking at.

Officially Licensed Mains Powered Charging Station (with AC Adaptor) (Xbox One) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NQT48NM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_WPYFwbXTA4GXG

Only thing making me pause is whether it'll work with the original xboxone controller as well as the newest iteration.

Ordered a kinect. Is there a recommended adapter to fix it to the top of the TV? The one I had for the 360 screwed into the TV's wall mounting sockets on the back. No rush, it's out of stock so I won't get it for a couple of weeks.

Also, ordered a play and charge kit. Stupid question, but someone in the Q&A suggested you can only charge it via the supplied cable while connected to the XB1 itself. Surely that's bollocks? I use a tablet 2.0A charger to charge my DS4 pads just fine.

I've had this for two years and it does the job perfectly:

I see there's an officially licensed one too but I can't imagine it's any different. They work much better above the TV as opposed to under it so worth getting.

And yes I've charged my pads via any cable and used the official one connected to laptops and apple plugs both iPad and iPhone.

I was told how to do this previously but can't find it so apologies.

We have two Xbox One's in the house, and two profiles. I own Titanfall. How do my son and i play each other?

The one downstairs is set as My Home Xbox. I was upstairs signed in and him downstairs yet we couldn't join each others game, as it was greyed out.

Mine does it too, not as long as 30 seconds but I see a spinning wheel with "signing in" or similar fairly regularly.

I think it might actually be performing a sync, getting messages/populating the feeds and so on as part of speeding the dash up, rather than waiting for a specific app to be opened and then sync'ing data, which is how the old dashboard worked. I guess it could be linked to the speed of your connection.
