Xbox One Console Thread

Well, that's pretty damn good.

I had Halo Reach on Xbox 360, the retail disc version. I sold it along with most of my other 360 games after I got the Xbox One.

And then they announced backwards compatibility, and I was annoyed with myself because I loved Reach.

Anyway, it appeared today as ready to download, and so now I have a digital version. I've no idea why it happened, but I'm really happy with it anyway.

They say they do it to expose how Microsoft and Sony's network services can't withstand an attack of this nature... yet Lizard/Phantom Squad are the only ones who are going to perform an attack of this nature.

It's not like they are trying to expose corporate incompetence with data protection or security issues (this time). This is just spoiling network reliability for everyone. However much money MS and Sony spend to strengthen their networks, these guys would just attack harder next Christmas, and say MS and Sony should have spent billions more.

I put this on the feedback forum:

https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/251610-live-tv-and-oneguide/suggestions/11157258-replace-sd-channels-with-hd-versions-or-allow-reor

I hope it's not me being thick but I find it annoying that the HD channels are way down the list and there's no suitable method to have BBC 1 & 2 HD at the top of the list then ITV HD, Channel 4 HD etc.

Is there a way to do this?

Settings > TV & OneGuide>OneGuide

There should be options there to "Hide deuplicate SD channels".

I'm looking to pick up an Xbox for my boy for Christmas and I was wondering if any of you helpful lot know of any amazing deals I should be looking at? I've probably left it a bit late though, to be fair.

Why does xbox.com think I'm not gold? I'm a gold member until Dec 2016 but I can't look at any Gold sale prices or deals on xbox.com because all it does is tell me to join Gold plastered all over the fucking website when logged in. Even though when I click subscriptions on the same website, it has my gold on there.

EDIT - Just as I moan about it, stuff finally starts to show. Only took about 2 weeks!

Just got Rise Of The Tomb Raider for £23 thanks to the sale and using the Singapore store.

I know it has been asked a trillion times, but can I just change my website region to Singapore and buy it with my CC? I quite fancy RotR as my Christmas game.

Well. One of my 6 games.

I've never tried it that way. But if that doesn't work:

Go to the Microsoft Store, change your region to Singapore. Purchase $50 digital credit. I used PayPal, and just had to enter a Singapore address. I just searched Google for a hotel in Singapore and used one of the addresses that came up.

One purchased, copy the code, it should be on the screen straight away.

Head to Xbox.com and change your region to Singapore.

Choose redeem code from one of the drop down menus near the top, and paste and redeem your code from the Microsoft Store.

Search for ROTR, and it should come up at $46ish. Purchase it, and then it will immediately start downloading on your console.

This is one of IGN's "Top Stories" for today:

IGN: How to Share Xbox One Videos on YouTube

... which is rather fucking stupid, as it's *ridiculously* out of date, and still says you need to share Game DVR clips to OneDrive as an intermediate step so as to be able to then share to YouTube.

Fucktards

Xbox One has had direct sharing to YouTube for *ages*: You just use the YouTube app... You don't even need to first run a clip through Upload Studio anymore (unless you want to edit it) - you can directly share any clip that's saved in Game DVR.

Set the boys Xbox up today and couldn't get both to have an open nat using the Sky Hub until I took mine out of the DMZ. Both now open Nats. Doesn't make sense but I am not complaining

The new Tomb Raider is rather good, started it today and looking forward to sinking more time into it

Thanks to the recent online sales and generous family members at Christmas I've got months of gaming ahead.

The Witcher 3, Lego Movie, Fallout 4, Just Cause 3 and the latest Tomb Raider are waiting to be played.

With the amount of gaming time I get these days it'll be next Christmas until I get anywhere near to completing these.

Santa also brought me a 2TB external drive. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up.

I hope others here have also done well.
