Xbox One Console Thread

I've had no end of problems with the NXOE.

The latest one may be down to my son though. He loves Infinity 2.0, and is just about old enough to know how to turn it on himself and get into a game. I've spent hours and hours making a toy box for him and his big sister over the past few weeks, having saved several versions of it. Today when I turned it on, all the saves are missing. All my toy box saves, but also all the saved games from all the playsets.

As I say, it could be my boy trying to play by himself and deleting them, but he knows you have to have the playset piece on the base in order to play, so I sort of doubt he'd have gone into the toy box saves menu. And since the saves for every playset are missing - even Guardians of the Galaxy, which he doesn't like and doesn't ever want to play - I think it's the Xbox somehow deleting all my saves. I've no idea how though.

Has anyone else had any issues with saved games vanishing? On Infinity, or any other game?

I had this on v3.0. I just powered down the system and flicked it back on, they reappeared. Another time it couldn't get a proper connection to their servers but had no error message, I just left it a couple of hours and all came back.

Have some stability.

I wonder if this will fix my controller randomly disconnecting when I'm playing Rise of the Tomb Raider. Ever since I upgraded to the new dash it keeps on happening. Never had it before so I'm guessing it's something to do with the previous update.

I never did get my Infinity saves back. All the other games I've checked still have their saves, so I guess it was my son. Weird that he managed to delete every single save on every play set and all the toy box saves though.

I'm also still having trouble with the USB ports and my Kinect. Starting to think it might be the console and not the dash. Very annoying.

After booting up from cold last night, none of the buttons on my pad would register, except the guide button. A reboot fixed it. I've had a lot of odd quirks like that, since the dash upgrade. For instance, was setting a wallpaper background, as the grey reminds me of the Oracle dev interface, and upon selecting an image from a game capture, it instantly powered off. No crash, it was like the power cable was yanked out.

Anyway, was reading some windows 10 stuff last night, sounds like the ability to have universal win 10 apps is coming early next year. I wonder if we'll then start to see "Patch Tuesday", as both windows phone and normal windows had that yesterday, synced for the first time.

Anyone else having issues signing in, using the party service? Can't get any Halo games going either as it can't connect to the servers.

How the hell can they fuck this up so badly, so often?

No signed in fine, party working OK and I just tried Halo (5 not MCC) and it's working fine.

Halo 5 is the only game I'm having problems with. It randomly disconnects every three matches or so, and the only way to fix it is to close the application and launch it again. NAT is wide open, ports have been forwarded, but nope nothing helps. Steam works perfectly, PS4 works perfectly, hell even the 360 works just fine. It's just Halo 5 on XB1. It does make me wonder why they're apparently unable to make something that works as well as the 360 at least. Annoying.

Eep. Something about Xbox Live is really slow and messed up right now. The Xbox started up fine, but then disconnected Live. I tested the connection and it said it couldn't obtain IP from the router blah-de-blah. But then Live came back by itself, however the dash was really slow and not showing my pinned tiles. After several reboots, it's showing flaky and inconsistent behaviour... telling me the connection is fine, but acting like it's not.

I heard there's an update today, so I wondered if downloading the update would clear up this crap. The update didn't try to start itself, but I checked in the options and there was an update ready, so I started it. The update download goes at a trickle, then around 3% is says there's a problem with my connection. It makes me sign in to the wifi again, then after 5 minutes of "testing the connection" it says "Your connection is fine." I can't back out of these update screens.

So I just turned off the Xbox with the physical button. I'll try again some other time when it wants to stop being a twat.
