Xbox One Console Thread

Thanks. I did managed to switch it off before the new dash came in but that seemed to switch it back on. I had a quick look but couldn't find it and kept forgetting every time since. But since I started Just Cause 3 an achievement seems to pop every 20 seconds or so and it's annoying me.

On a similar note, something I've been meaning to ask but kept forgetting: is it possible to turn achievement notifications off? I couldn't care less about them and find them distracting when they go off.

Blasphemy! Off with his head! :)

I'm hoping it's just because of newness.

But that's weird though, on the 360 you'd just get your little "plib" noise and the dialogue box would pop up.

I'd like to think I'm over achievements , but it annoys me when something doesn't work like it should.

But then If I'm about to go full obsessive compulsive on Fallout 4 this is going to be an issue!

Check under settings how your notifications are configured and check via your profile what achievements it thinks you've unlocked - RR is crazy with them at first where you get them just for trying each game.

That's what's wierd. If I look in my profile or smart glass it just says I have no achievements. But it knows I've played the games. While the Xbox website doesn't acknowledge those games as played. It shows my last achievement (2 weeks ago) and shows that I've played other games since but no mention of the Xbox one at all.

See below, smart glass even knows how many studs I picked up, so the Xbox is obviously talking to the service. It's wierd.

There have been some issues occasionally since the new dashboard with people reporting that achievments are not granting for a while. It's happened to me a couple of times where it took 24-48 hours and i would randomly have 7 or 8 achievments pop at once.

When did the new dashboard come in?

I'm assuming it must be this as I've made changes to profile on the bone that have appeared on the site so they're in touch.

Will wait and see I guess. Cheers for the responses guys.

So I just bought a EA access code for 12 months for £12.99

Unless I'm mistaken, aside from all the generous trial/demo stuff, as long as you have your sub active, you get full access to all of these and anything else they add?

Sorry yeah I meant on the console itself launch your profile or snap the achievements app and see what's showing as completed - you might find the achievements show "unlocking" which means they're waiting for a handshake.

It seems MS decoupled a lot of things this gen like achievements and the friends area (sometimes you'll have no live connection issues but your FL won't load as an example or what you've experienced with achievements as another).

There's not a single title there that doesn't fall into your "exclude xb1 version" mentality but for most yes it represents incredible value and is a great way to inflate their software selection.

the bone potential library is tiny because I prefer getting any versions of games on PC and I also have a PS4, so I'm mainly interested in 100% Bone exclusives.

No Retreat, No Surrender.

My Xbox One's USB ports and Kinect seem to be dying. The Kinect now only works if I unplug it and plug it back in again, but then after ten minutes it turns itself off again. About a third of the time, anything I've got plugged in to a USB port isn't recognised until I unplug it and plug it back in again. I'm sad.

Still worth it for me, voice navigation is so much handier, but it really depends on that being your thing. Skype has also been great chatting to friends/family in Australia. Apart from that I'm not sure there's much else that it is useful for. If they don't tickle your fancy, I'd avoid.
