Xbox One Console Thread

If you add MCC to that pile I'd suggest a 2tb external drive will be the next thing you need. Between it and halo5 you're looking at about 140gb

Yeah, I've just got the 5TB Seagate for £90 that SeanR posted in here and in Bargains.

So satisfying knowing I never have to delete a game ever again (or at least for a very very long time).

wow, suddenly glad i went for the 1tb version.

Having researched i might have to rebuy and restart marvel superheroes as it isn't on the bc list

I've read either of the halo 5 or fallout 4 threads for fear of spoilers but is Halo 5 as horrifically difficult as destiny pvp ? or is it a bit less hardcore?

Reach was the last halo i really played a lot of online and i'm just too old and slow now

Halo 5 on Heroic is fine. Normal is really easy, and Legendary is a solid challenge.

EDIT - Oh, PVP. It depends. Running with a team it's fine, BTB can be difficult on your own.

As ever though, Halo has the best Matchmaking system going, so you'll always be up against people of similar ability (once you do your initial 10 setting in games).

Halo 5's matchmaking is a possible genuine skill matcher. It takes your first 10 games in each gametype then uses that data to match you up with similar levelled gamers. I thought I'd never be decent at it but once I got graded I got some pretty good results and I couldn't hit a coo on the arse with a banjo !

Yeah, the Halo games have always been fantastic at using an actual skill level to match players. The levels are very clear, and obviously do change with each game played.

Does anyone here like the Activity Feed? I've found it to be incredibly irritating because there's no easy way to turn it off (I've gone through privacy settings and blocked all the friends stuff in the hope it will stop updating) and when you play games as slowly as I do it's a great way to see lots of spoilers from achievements your friends have unlocked that fill it.

I don't like any of the social stuff to be honest, but that's because I'm a foul tempered misanthrope. I'd go offline if I didn't want to download updates and stuff. I can't say I've even noticed the activity feed. Isn't it in a separate tab that you don't have to go into if you don't want to?

Yes it is. Slightly puzzled how it could be seen as intrusive. Spoilerific possibly, via screenshots, clips and achievements if these are explicit.

I've always completely ignored it without any consequence, seems a lot easier than fretting about disabling it.

The easiest way not to be bothered by it is not to stop on the tab. I know you have to cross it on the way to the Store, but it takes a fraction of a second to get across it.

I'd be inclined to recommend a 4tb drive, It's amazing just how much space all of the free games and 360 bc titles occupy let alone the 30-50 gig Xbox One games. I think I've used around 1.4tb already.

I'll give you that I'm down to my last 200gb and that's after removing shite I'll never touch again like COD:AW.

Does anyone know of a problem with Game DVR on the new dash?

Specifically being unable to snap the app, in fact the app doesn't even appear on the list when you go to "Snap an app". There doesn't appear to be a way to update the app or uninstall/reinstall. Any ideas?

Just to follow up on this. The issue was fixed by putting the console into Power Save mode and shutting down, power cables unplugged for 5mins and powering on again. This cleared the cache and fixed the problem.

Fuck sake. I bought a bone. I'm not saying fuck sake because the bone is a bad console or has a bad software library, but because I spend too much money on games and systems I definitely don't need and now feel guilty but I'm also quite excited to play HALO! And hopefully Scalebound is great.

So please help me feel better guys. I'm in the weird situation where the bone potential library is tiny because I prefer getting any versions of games on PC and I also have a PS4, so I'm mainly interested in 100% Bone exclusives.

So I've got Halo 5/Halo MCC coming with it. Also I give no fucks about Forza Motorsport, but I think FH2 looks fun. Isn't that £15 digital atm? I don't have gold but I bought a 12month code to activate when the console arrives so I can't see gold discounts on xbox.com atm.

So off the top of my head I have:

Sunset Overdrive

FH2

GOW U - coming to PC, but it is cheap enough on the bone to make it consider it now - is the offer where it comes with all the previous GOW games finished?

Anything else I'm obviously missing? Remember, if on PC or coming to PC (like Tomb Raider/Killer Instinct etc) I probably wanna stick with PC for those. Thanks!

Gears of War offer runs until the end of of December... Enjoy the console!

Thank you - does that apply to if I bought a digital key from cdkeys or the cheapest disc copy I can find? Every shopfront I look at doesn't seem to openly advertise the free xbox 360 gears games. Rare replay is a good shout thank you.

Yup, Sunset Overdrive, FH2, GoW U, Rare Replay and all the Halo stuff and that's your lot!

I bought my Xbox One a year ago and that's literally all the games I have for it. I got one because, well.. I aways end up getting them all :/

There's Elite Dangerous! Looks like the XO version is the only console one for at least the time being.

..yeah..

Any copy so long as you have played it before December 31st. I bought my copy digitally from Cdkeys. Not got my codes yet though but they are rolling them out in waves apparently from the 19th November.
