Quick controller question.

I've just brought a Play & Charge Kit for my normal Xbox One controller and when I tried to plug it into the micro USB port on the controller, it was really difficult to plug in. It went in all the way but their was no smooth click, it really felt like I was forcing it.

Have I got a dodgy controller port or are they all like this?

Mine are like this. Difficult to plug in and difficult to unplug.

I've seen a few people complaining about this. The icon is there on the front page. You press left once and you are in the menu it is in. I think these people that complain about it must have a right shit time when they are trying to find Control Panel on their PC, or Settings on their phone.

I think it's worth (briefly) criticising. UI improvements are generally supposed to reduce the number of button presses it takes to get to essential features. There are some fairly essential things in the Settings menus - things I want to access almost every time I use the Xbox. So the fewer movements away the better.

I think it now takes a lot more movements to get to the Settings. It used to be around 3 button presses away. Now I'd guess it's about 8 or 9 movements away, at the bottom of all the items on the the left-screen slide-out menu. It's also just a small cog icon, without the word "Settings", so it's more missable.

Yes this is boring pedantic shit, yes you can neg me.

Of course it's boring and pedantic - it's a discussion about the finer points of UI.

Yeah, mine feels a bit crap to plug in. I noticed that if you look around the port, the micros USB port is not flush with the controller plastic, it seems to have a gap around it so maybe all the controllers are a bit dodgy.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope the £130 Elite controllers don't have the same cheap finish!

dont quote me but theres some license refresher thingymabob somewhere, i had to do it on mine when it kept running some XBLA games in demo mode. streets of rage was always the culprit, i was pleasantly surprised to see it come across to the bone last night

My Community and Store areas no longer update manually with new content. I need to go in and out a few times (or manually refresh the Community) was fine initially so I'm presuming this is just a temporary issue at their end of the feed.

At least the bloody thing logs me in automatically now. For some reason, despite doing it fine for the first couple of weeks and despite having just my own profile on it, it refused to do so for the past few weeks.

What license refresher thingymabob? I'm missing a small handful of the thirty something 360 games I own on that list.

New UI is still a bit of a mess, it is quicker and marginally more sane though.

Has anyone else tried the 360 version of Wonderboy in Monsterland on the One? I installed it last night and the music was terribly distorted.

Is there a section on the MS website where you can submit bugs and feedback relating to backwards compatibility?

Think you can just hold the home button down, so it brings up the turn off xbox screen and to the right you can report bugs.

So I looked into miracast. The XB1 got this in April or so, with a wireless display app. There's a video showing some guy mirroring his android phone via it. Except, there's no mention of it now, anywhere. Did they ditch it?

It's a beta app - I think only preview members get it just now

It looks like a satellite connection and was wondering if I could just use my cables from sky/freesat and it would just work?

I know we have the digital tv tuner that uses a normal aerial here but I'm thinking the reception would be better for me using a dish.
