Xbox One Console Thread

Looking online, it appears to be out of stock in the whole of the North West of England, lots of people must have thought it was a great deal too. I shall take it in first thing this morning and see what they can do. Online, they are still available for home delivery within 2 days. I'll ask if they can speed that up at all and deliver either to my home tomorrow, or into the store asap.

Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition £44.99

I know this got great reviews on PC and made many GOTY lists for 2014. Either I hadn't been paying attention or this has just stealth launched out of nowhere. You can presumably get it on PC for buttons but I know this will be of interest to some here.

Looks like I'm getting the new dash at the moment as non opting in or out preview member.

Thinking of getting an xbox one. I was going to make do with just a ps4 and Wii U but ps4 isn't supplying any of the colourful games I like (i bought it a year and a half ago based on the hype train and wanting something new) It may have some good games, but they are generally very gritty and dark.

Xbox one seems to be better served with colourful exclusives, stuff like Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 (compared to driveclub, which i strongly dislike despite wanting to enjoy and giving more of a chance than most games, as a fan of arcade racers I find it clinical and charmless in both appearance and gameplay, am sure many will disagree) Ori and The Blind Forest, Rare Replay and a couple of others. In terms of colourful ps4 exclusives currently available, I can only really think of Tearaway (completed the vita one, style over substance like all media molecule games) and...?

Backwards compatibility might be what pushes me into getting a one. I have a ton of great 360 games, although i highly doubt a lot of them will be covered by BC (cave shmups etc).

I have two questions,

1)are the colourful exclusives likely to keep coming ?

2)can you pay for ea access with xbox live store credit ?

Looks like the new Need for Speed is up on the EA Access vault with a 10 hr trial available. If the SP isn't locked out like Hardline was then I expect you could easily finish the game in that time and see the truly awful storyline to the end.

Gah. My new Kinect stopped working last night. Hopefully it's a temporary problem and a dash update/hard reset/unplug and plug it back in will get it working again.

Mine had the cutting on and off bug for months - the new dashboard has fixed it and it's back to normal now.

I'm on the new dashboard, and have been for a couple of weeks. The Kinect worked fine on it until yesterday. I haven't really tried to fix it at all yet though, as the only time I've turned on a console in the past few days has been so my kids can play Minecraft.

Has the Beta dash been rolled out to preview members that did not opt in as a friend of mine swears blind that he did not enrol yet he was given the new dash through an update the other night.

All preview members were messaged a week or so ago to the effect they would be automatically receiving the update unless they exited the preview program.

Sorry for the questions everyone, new to this!

Just subscribed to Xbox Live Gold using the CD Key offer for 2 years, if I buy Titanfall for the sale price of £6, do I keep that game forever, or only for as long as I'm a gold subscriber?

Yes, I know I won't be able to play Titanfall if I wasn't Gold ;)

Just remember it's on EA access as well so if there's anything else you fancy on that service it might be as cheap to pay the £20 a year sub to that and get a ton more EA games.

It's also worth noting that despite it already representing crazy value it's about to probably get a massive shot in the arm as they start adding their 360 library to it.

Just bought one with Sunset Overdrive, Master Chief Borked Edition and Rare Replay. The dumb fucking thing is that it's the backwards compatibility that pushed me over the edge.

Is there anything I should know as a new owner who doesn't want to be in the Preview Programme?

I would say

If you buy discs, prepare yourself for lengthy installation times.

Consider the purchase of an external HD.

If in doubt on the home page press the right hand button for available options.

Remember everything is an App.

Get SmartGlass for your phone or tablet.

Then, sit back and enjoy :)

Remember to go offline (Settings >> Network) before installing anything; otherwise it'll try to download any patches at the same time and that takes ages.
